• A:Answer Im answering my own question in case it's helpful to anyone else. Make sure the Yamaha receiver HDMI input is set to "MODE 1." Make sure your TV E-ARC HDMI input / output is set to "enhanced" mode (Sony TVs) or whatever option enables 4k / 60hz inputs.

• A:Answer You can use the Yamaha MusicCast app to control the console with your phone via wi-fi which does not require clear line of sight. The included remote is standard RF so you do need a clear line to use it. All of that said - I would strongly recommend NOT enclosing your receiver in a cabinet behind a wall. It generates some heat and should be someplace with good ventilation. Same with game consoles or any other high end electronic.

• A:Answer Your TV (regardless of brand) has to have an EARC HDMI port. This is NOT a regular HDMI port. Check your TV - if you have it - one of your HDMI inputs should be labeled "EARC." If you don't have an EARC HDMI port, you won't be able to totally take advantage of the system. And if your TV isn't HDMI 2.1 compatible (MOST TVs are not so check your model) you won't be able to pass through 4k 120 hz / 120 fps video signal.
