Yep, it also tells your your oven temps as it also reads ambient temp in addition to meat temp. Temps a re little off though so definitely follow up with a good probe instant read thermometer for poultry and pork.

yes we have used it in both oven and a roaster in an oven! worked great. Had to move it closer than the five feet but that wasn't a problem for our kitchen.

I purchased this for my father in law and to test it out we made a roast in the oven with it and it worked great.
