Does the case detach from the keyboard null

No the case doesn't detach from the keyboard. Now..it does detach from the rugged version, but take my word for it, the rugged is not a good choice. Opt for this particular keyboard.

No it does not detach at the spine as the image depicts. I made the mistake and ordered it thinking it would based on the image provided.
