I think they charge for shipping. You'll need to keep the cracked protector to send back in some set of time or they'll charge you for the full price of the replacement. They provide an envelope to send the broken one back.

They will authorize your credit card for the full amount of the replacement until you send back the broken one though. I've done it several times and it works out great.
