• The Defender Otterbox does NOT have a screen protector, at least the ones currently at Best Buy.

• It is not required that you take care of your phone at all, however, using a screen protector with an Otterbox Defender is a GOOD idea due to Otterbox's BAD idea to not include a screen protector with this case. And they even still call it a Defender?

• Not really! If you get the right Otter Box (i.e. Defender has a plastic face for like a 360 type of case, Symmetry is an open face) Just take your time to pick one.

• The gorilla glass on the S8/S8+ is stronger then the previous s7 but the screen protector is too thick to be used without the screen, the glass seems to useless when the otter box version is just as tough but thinner. If you need one now, get the HD plastic cover and have Geek Squad install it professionally.

• While it's certainly not necessary, I definitely recommend it. I wouldn't want to risk scratches or cracks due to everyday use or drops.

• Otterbox defender series has eliminated the plastic screen on its cases for the S8 and S8+. Get the glass one that is available on Amazon. Honestly what is another $50 for a 8-900 phone?
