“Is this screen protector supposed to extend over the edges? Applying it wasn't a problem, but it sticks out about 1/4 inch on all 4 sides. Do I just trim it with scissors? I bought the one specifically for the LG G2. Any advice would be appreciated?”

sounds as if you have the wrong size screen protector which should cover the LG G2 front without overlap. Take your phone to the Best Buy service department and they should be able to reattach the correct size without any trimming.

Normally they don't put them on unless you buy it there they said. But I said well if you sold them here I'd of bought it here. Reluctantly, they put it on no charge. (Now they do sell it there but subject to availability) It fit perfectly on my LG G2, it is NOT supposed to overhang the edges. It should fit about 1 millimeter from all edges. I'm thinking you didn't get the right one regardless of what the packaging.
