• I use my Apple mouse. It connects to the ipad not the keyboard.

• I doubt if you can use a mouse, I didn't get that far. This product does not come with a USB cord - although C.S. will tell you that it does. When I took it back to the store they checked all the other and 1. They had either all been stolen or 2. they are wrong and the cord doesn't come with it. Its bulky and heavy - not worth the money.
