• The Apple Pencil Gen 2 needs to be placed directly on the iPad Gen 2-4 to charge. The holder will not charge the pencil. That said, the holder is pretty good and more secure than other iPad screen cases. I just got this case and had to take the iPad out to charge the pencil.
