“How does this open/stay open? Is it hinged like a laptop or does it have something that keeps it open like a Surface? I had two Zagg slim books but the hinges for the "kickstand" keep breaking. I need something more durable to use on my lap, on flites”

It is magnetically held in place for easy removal. The screen and key board open like a book. This will loosen after a little use, so don't worry about it breaking.
