QuestionRecording hours?How many hours does camera record until full? Can this camera also take motion activated pictures instead of video and what is storage capacity for pics ?

- Answer The DVR/NVR comes with a 1TB hard drive. You can set the recording to "intelligent mode" which will record 5 frames per second until it senses motion, which then it will boost up to 24 frames per second. In intelligent mode, on average, you should get around 4 weeks before the hard drive is full and starts recording over itself. That time will be less if its not set in intelligent mode.

- Answer The outdoor cameras are rated to withstand constant temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature occasionally dips below 14 degrees, as it often does in the Northern US, the cameras shouldn't be affected.

- Answer The cameras comes with a power adapter and 6ft cord. They can be plugged into any normal AC outlet. They do not require batteries.

QuestionDo the outdoor cameras have to be sheltered ? If so can anyone recommend a system where the outdoor cameras do not have to be sheltered.

- Answer The outdoor cameras don't have to be sheltered but because they are not designed with a sun shield per say, you would get better images if they were installed under an awning or roof soffit during the mid day hours.

- Answer Yes, there is an HDMI port on back of the NVR that you can plug into a TV or computer monitor with the same port.

- Answer they are not completely wireless. you have to plug all 4 cameras into a 120v outlet. So hopefully there is an outlet within 6ft of your camera. Otherwise, be prepared to spend some money on an electrician to come out and install 4 new outlets for the cameras.

- Answer It is not recommended, as the IR lights on the camera can cause a reflection on the glass at night.

QuestionI rely on a stationary hotspot router for my internet. That means my data is expensive and very limited. Does the wireless video transmission to the DVR use my mobile data even if it's not leaving my network?

- Answer The cameras will connect to the NVR using your WiFi router, so if you will have a monitor connected to the NVR you will not need to have internet at the location. If you want to view the cameras on your phone, your router must be connected to high speed internet. Satellite internet and hot spots will not have the network speeds to support the video feed. - Answer No, not with this particular model. 4 cameras is the maximum. You don't have to put both outdoor cameras outside, you could use one inside and have 3 cameras indoors and 1 outdoors.

- Answer Yes, get a 12 volt solar panel and connect it to a 12 volt battery. Purchase a 12 volt receptacle with pig tales and a round 12 volt car charger like for your phone. Plug a usb cable into the charger on one end and the other end into the USB pigtail on the camera. I run one just like it on my deer feeder camera. The infrared night vision is a power drain. If it dies during the night you have to upsize the battery and solar panel.
