Yes and No. You will need a subscription service if you want to view past events. You will not need one for live coverage. But honestly, there is little point in having the cameras if you cannot record the events. How would you be able to use the video in court or police investigations about possible break-ins? There may be another option with a recording box for video streams and events.

You can open the app and see the person at the door and even talk to them. This is free. If you want to record or store that's an upgrade and does cost money via monthly subscription based on 1 year contract. Like any security company
