We were concerned with this as well, have had ours for a few years now, still works fine with the apps we use, netflix, vudu, google play movies. It would be nice to have got an update, but it hasn't had any problems as of yet.

FYI, I’ve purchased a similar device with android 4.4 and I’m slowly loosing compatibility with certain apps like Hulu. Netflix still works but for how long? I recommend not purchasing this until the OS can be updated.

I've had no technical compatibility problems with mine, and has also received manufacturers current updates several times since I've purchased this projector.
