There are options to selectively activate or deactivate the recording capsules to adjust or shape the recording area around the microphone. The gain knob is also a great feature, when you plug in your earphones to monitor the audio, you can adjust the gain to tune out the any other ambient noise you don't want in your recording. Spend a little more and get a Yeti, with the use of the knobs, you can get better sound from the get go!
