Good product. Panel under bottom should not be plastic. Bottoms need to light up for those with poor sight.

The fan gave out on my old microwave and I wanted one similar, and this one fits the bill.

I wanted a simple microwave without all the bells and whistles that I’d never use. The exhaust fan is noisy and there is little difference between the two speeds. There is a distinct sound as I turn on the fan as the damper engages. GE repair guy came out to see if all was in order. He told me it was designed to operate this way.

I may come back and update this review in the future if that is allowed because so far I haven’t been able to use this microwave oven due to poor design. Mounting this proved to be extremely difficult. The previous GE Profile was bought in 2005 and just decided to randomly turn on. Eventually it would not turn off either! So, we replaced it. This new model has three points of attachment. There are the two bolts that go from the inside of the cabinet into the top of the case. These bolts when installed per directions are not sufficient to hold the unit securely. The top of the case actually bends from the weight. The bracket attached to the wall holds the back securely - that part works fine to support the back edge. However the only support for the front is the two bolts. The top of microwave bends in the center under its own weight. There should be a third bolt or something inside the will keep the top of the unit rigid. It can be pressed up into position, but there is no inner support to keep the center supported. The microwave is installed under a standard kitchen cabinet with the bottom constructed of 5/8” plywood. The previous GE profile installed just fine.
