    Amazing 35mm Len

I recently added this 35mm lens to my collection, and it has quickly become my go-to for almost every situation. First off, the build quality is impressive; it feels sturdy and well-made, with smooth focusing and a compact design that makes it easy to carry around. The image quality is stellar—sharp even at wide apertures, with great contrast and beautiful color rendition. The f/1.8 (or f/1.4, if applicable) aperture gives a lovely shallow depth of field that’s perfect for portraits, and it performs well even in low light. I’ve also been able to get some incredible close-up shots, making it versatile for various types of photography, from street to landscape. I love the focal length as well—35mm is wide enough to capture a nice scene without feeling too distorted, yet it’s also intimate enough for portraits. It has really helped me improve my compositions and focus on framing my shots well. I highly recommend this lens to anyone looking for an affordable yet high-quality prime lens that works for a wide range of shooting styles. It's worth every penny!

Picked this up when it was on sale and I’m so glad that I did. The RF lenses are in every way a superior build to the EF line. This is not a L series lens, but you’ll immediately notice the quality of this budget prime the first time you pick it up. It is fantastic in low light and even pretty good for macro photography with only minor chromatic aberrations with the aperture wide open at the edges. It finds its focus quickly for photography, and that quick focus slows down some for videography for a near silent focus when recording. Overall an excellent lens for the price and non-L series build that also includes lens Image Stabilization.

This lens is incredible, especially for the price. The new RF glass is truly crisp. Yes, you can get cheaper EF lenses but trust me there is a quality difference just to step up the price a little bit. The chromatic aberration on this lens is a lot less than my previous lenses. It isn't perfect but it can handle a lot more. The focus is a bit slow and noisy, however, for portrait sessions, I haven't found this to be a negative factor. With this being a budget lens on the RF line, I HIGHLY recommend picking it up. 90% of the time in my sessions this is the only lens I use. It is super versatile and lets you get up really close depending on what you are capturing.

I can find no reason not to have it. Although it's cheap, but the image quality not cheap at all. It's so good. Very small size and light weight makes it a very good walk-around lens on your R body. The only downside of this lens is the focus speed when shooting video is a little bit slow and sometimes you can hear a little noise.

Lightweight and quiet. Excellent for macro and video. Perfect for the R50. Decent for low light because of IS and wide aperature. This lens stays on my camera most of the time.

PRO: - small, compact, lightweight - f/1.8 fast - IS image stabilized - Macro 1:2 -Customizable ring on lens, like for ISO or aperture etc. CON: - Macro is only half life size (1:2 vs ;) - Not professional L-lens

I love this little lens. It seems to work great in low light due to it's f1.8. 35 mm seems to me like a good size for natural looking photos like if you were just walking around. Sure, it isn't as great as some of the L lenses, but it is not $1,000's either. For the price, I am very happy with the performance of this lens. I am giving it a four star because I think that Canon could at least include a cheap hood for the lens. I did see some flaring in low light with bright lights around. A cheap lens hood seemed to fix that easily.

Great lens. It is important to note that this is my very first lens and I’m new to photography. However, simply from a viewers perspective this lens produces great stills. The build quality is solid. The aperture is great. Overall a great lens for all around use.

Great lens! If you’re using it for video, consider adjusting your camera’s autofocus settings to improve AF speed. As a macro lens, it can occasionally struggle to maintain video focus in challenging lighting conditions, such as backlit scenes. The image stabilizer performs exceptionally well, making it an excellent choice for handheld video work.
