We purchased this product in January 2023 to use as our backup freezer when it was $679. Just as two years hit in January 2025, it died. Called "Insignia" product support (third party call center) and they advised the product only has a one year warranty. They refused to do anything past that as the warranty expired but thanked us for being a "valued customer". A valued customer that has no value is a bigger insult than wasting money on a defective product.

This freezer is made exclusively for Best Buy (insignia) and is junk . I will never buy from them again.

Not convertible if you want safe temps

It's large and would easily hold everything I needed. The issue is it doesn't hold temperature correctly as a fridge. Set at 35 it's routinely at 45-47 degrees. This is way too warm.

We liked the idea that it could serve either purpose, as sometimes we have lots of special event food needing refrigeration and sometimes we have lots of food that needs to go into the deep freeze. We quickly noticed that when it was in refrigerator mode the temperature inside fluctuated wildly, from 28 degrees to 44 degrees (it was set to 35 degrees). Not good for the food! Tried to troubleshoot the problem with the manufacturer for about an hour before the manufacturer's rep told us to contact Best Buy for a pick-up and refund. Then the headaches and wasted time on the phone really began.
