There’s not much to complain about with the performance of this vacuum. It’s extremely lightweight, it doesn’t seem to clog, it works well on hardwood floors and carpet, and the auto empty system means you don’t need to empty the dustbin for weeks. The biggest drawbacks are the cost, and where do you store it? (I've also had concerns with battery life). Assuming you have the floor space and a nearby outlet to store it and you’re willing to shell out the money it should be at the top of your list when looking at vacuums.
IN THE BOX
In the box you get the vacuum (the handheld part with the small dustbin, battery), the extension rod, the brush base, two attachments, an odor neutralizing “puck,” and the auto empty system base. Piecing it together is simple and only takes a few minutes.
PLACEMENT OF AUTO EMPTY BASE
My 8 year old Dyson stick vacuum is in my small laundry room and attached to the wall. I personally liked having it on the wall so it was out of the way. Here, you can’t really attach the Shark cordless vacuum to the wall (unless you’re willing to build a shelf that will support the weight). While the auto empty base isn’t terribly large, it wasn’t ideal for our setup to have it sitting on the floor. It takes up the limited amount of space in our laundry room. So for now, it sits in the corner of our relatively unused dining room. This isn’t ideal either. And putting it in a closet isn’t an option as we don’t have any outlets in our closets. Obviously, this issue is very specific to your house/apartment setup. But it's something you'll want to consider when considering this as an option.
PERFORMANCE AS VACUUM
This Shark brings plenty of power to pick up most messes. In my kitchen it's easily able to pick up food crumbs and in the living room, pet hair. It picks up most sized objects (within reason) with ease. The brush roll is a blend of foam and rubber blades that promise not to get tangled or clogged. I've yet to run into a vacuum that doesn't, at some point, get clogged with hair over time. But it's too early to tell at this point. Honestly, putting aside the advanced features this model brings, it's very similar in terms of performance from other stock vacuums on the market. Its own advantage might be the size and weight. It's very light and maneuverable.
I found that the tube can get clogged when trying to vacuum more than just small crumbs on the floor. I had to clean out the tube twice since I’ve owned it, but it could be more user error as I was trying to vacuum up bigger pieces of food (like chips) that I should have. The point is, it’s not infallible to clogging - like most vacuums.
But when I wasn’t vacuuming things too big for a vacuum, I was pleased with its performance, especially on deep carpets. And you know it’s working when there’s dirt/dust in the clear bin that you didn’t see on the carpet.
EXTRA FEATURES
With this model, you're getting the auto empty base, edge detection, odor eliminator, auto sensing (for power), lights, charging base/dock/auto empty system. Frankly it's a lot, and likely why the price is so high. But I really question the value and need for all of these features - outside the auto empty base, it's most obvious distinguishable feature
Take the odor eliminator. Sounds great in theory but I could never smell any fragrance (not that I wanted to) which is what I would have expected to smell to know that it's working. I just don't know if it works and Shark now expects/wants me to buy an odor eliminator "puck" every so often. No thanks.
The edge detection is another feature whereby the suction power increases when the vacuum detects the side of a wall (say when vacuuming next to your baseboards). Sounds good, and actually seems to work well - obviously when vacuuming next to a wall, there's the plastic of the vacuum itself that doesn't quite allow the brush roll to get all the way to the wall. The increased power of the side detection seems to alleviate that problem by increasing the power.
There's also the auto detect function, where the vacuum picks up power depending on the amount of dirt on the ground that it detects. This is nice if for no other reason than you feel good about picking up dirt on the ground.
The battery life is also superb. It goes for about 60 minutes (which is what it’s rated for) which basically means you can vacuum your whole house without having to recharge it.
CONCLUSION
This is a nice vacuum with a lot of bells and whistles that you don’t really need. The auto emptying bin is nice, but I never had any issues emptying the dust canisters of other stick vacuums before. I mostly like the stand because it’s a nice way to store your vacuum and charge it so it’s ready to go when you need it. The other features, like odor control and edge detection are nice, but seem a little gimmicky. If you can find a good spot for the large auto emptying base in your home, and don’t mind the cost, this is a great vacuum to consider.

Amazing Stick Vac w/one small Quirk

Let me just say upfront, I love this vacuum. We’ve owned several stick vacs in the past including a Dyson, and this one is my new favorite. It has so many little extra features that make it good for almost every situation and definitely one of the best you can buy. It has one design quirk - I can’t necessarily say it’s a flaw because as of yet, it doesn’t seem to affect anything negatively - it’s just that it seems like it could possibly - and that’s why I’m calling it a quirk. But otherwise, it excels at just about everything. Let me break it all down for you.
PROS
- Super lightweight and maneuverable
- Several Power Levels/Modes including Intelligent Mode
- No “trigger” that you have to hold down
- Lights to help you see when vacuuming in corners, under stuff
- Auto Empty Bin collector with Scent Release
- Nice Charging Stand
- Decent Runtime on a Charge
CONS
- Dust/Hair/Etc is sucked onto Filter Cylinder
- No Extra Battery
This stick vac rocks! It has so much functionality and yet is still small and lightweight. So the thing I first noticed about this vacuum is how easy it is to use. I love that I don’t have to hold a trigger down while I’m vacuuming which is one think I really didn’t like about our previous stick vac. This one has a simple power button on the top as well as a button to change the level/mode. You turn it on then you get to vacuuming. And it just glides around so easily. It’s super lightweight and is super easy to turn and get under dressers or around table and chair legs. Really a delight to use.
But this vac doesn’t stop there - it has so many super cool features. It has an intelligent mode where the vacuum detects things like extra dirt or something tougher and automatically increases suction power as well as it detects if your vacuuming against a wall and increases power to make sure it sucks in everything. The light is also intelligent and turns on when the sensor indicates low light so the lights will just come on if you suddenly are vacuuming a darker area without you having to do anything. The active roller is a very unique design and seems to do a great job whether picking up dog hair or dust or anything else tracked into the house.
The quirk I mentioned has to do with the design of the canister. In other similar vacs the air is sucked into the canister in such a way that the collected dirt and stuff swirls around the bottom of it. But in this one the air seems to be bulled straight up through the canister and the dust/hair/etc is sucked up against the interior filter. It seems like this could possibly affect the suction of the vacuum and is an odd design choice. That being said, I haven’t specifically noticed it affect the suction power, but that may be partially because I’m paranoid about it so empty the bin more frequently than I might if I hadn’t noticed that. Anyway, it’s a quirk, but so far hasn’t seemed to change the effectiveness of the vacuum.
The charging station and automatic canister emptying system is AMAZING! You drop the stick vac into the station and it detects it and immediately sucks ALL the hair, dirt, dust, etc out of the canister. It’s completely clean (including the before mentioned filter that stuff sticks to) and ready to go. But Shark didn’t stop there. There is also a button on there in case you’re putting in the stand at a time when you don’t want the cleaner to cut on (maybe people are sleeping) - you just push that button and then it will not empty the container. Also there is a nice scent release system you put a little pod into and then every time the auto-emptying runs it pushed air through there and adds a nice scent to the air.
Besides how great this thing works, it also looks good too! It’s something you can put in a common area like a living room and it isn’t an eye sore.
This is overall a well thought out product by Shark. The AutoDetect features all work great to make sure you’re getting the right amount of suction power and light whenever you need it. Add in the self-emptying charging stand and you’ve got one truly amazing stick vac that sets a new bar for vacuums.

I’m impressed with this stick vacuum. I got this for my Mom and she is very petite, so first and foremost, happy that it is super lightweight and easy to maneuver around the house and carry up and down stairs.
The nose fits mostly under furniture but the arm junction prevents it from going more than 3 or so inches underneath. It does a good job discerning between hardwoods, thin rugs and thicker carpeting, but it does seem a to need an extra once over on multi-height pile rugs.
You can manually adjust the suction up or down which helps with vacuuming the dog bed. A lower setting prevents it from sucking up the corners but still gets up the dog hair.
The coolest part though, is the self emptying feature. After you are done, you just re-dock the vacuum on the home base and it empties the contents into the bin. The bin is extremely easy to remove and empty.
There are multiple attachments that are very easy to install and remove. Instructions were a little vague, but it’s so easy to setup I just referred to the instructions once or twice to understand some new features, like there’s a “nighttime” button that will prevent the auto emptying feature from randomly kicking on.
I like vacuums with a “headlamp”. At first I couldn’t tell if this had one or not, but it does and it’s auto light sensing and only comes on when it’s dark near the head (presumably to save battery).
It claims 1 hour battery life. I haven’t tried to run it for a full hour, but I can definitely get 2,000 square feet vacuumed in one charge.

--- SETUP ---
The Shark Cordless vacuum was one of the quickest vacuum setups I have experienced. From the simple set of instructions to how easy it was to connect everything, all in all, I spent less than 10 minutes setting everything up.
--- FEATURES ---
Auto-empty container, bagless base that captures dust and allergens, auto-detect surfaces, auto lighting for dark areas, detects edges, easy to push and pull, self cleaning, 60 minutes of use, cordless!
--- PERFORMANCE AND EXPECTATIONS ---
This is my second cordless vacuum, and I must say that it is very convenient to have one. The Shark Cordless just happens to be the best version I’ve had to date. For starters, the vacuum is always charged, thanks to the base that charges it while it is not in use. This makes it ready to use at a moment's notice. Though few people like cleaning, having a vacuum ready to go makes it less of a hassle. After every meal, because it’s readily available, I vacuum any crumbs that may have been dropped to the floor. Thanks to the auto-empty container, the vacuum is always ready.
In dark areas of my home, the light turns on, allowing me to see if I have finished picking up what I intended on doing. The vacuum is easy to push and pull. As you are vacuuming, if you change from a hard floor surface to a carpet area, you will hear the vacuum adjust and start vacuuming at a higher level in the carpet. It is great to hear it in action as it adjusts, and there is no question if it is auto detecting the floor surface or not. This unit includes an aromatizing capsule that is great to keep odors away from the base that stores all dust. It is easy to get rid of the dust when needed as well.
Though you can manually adjust settings as needed, I found the automatic detection to be reliable enough to where I don’t worry about it. My favorite setting is when it detects that I am vacuuming near an edge and it adjusts to pick up hard to reach dust.
The included add ons (duster crevice and pet tool) are a nice complement to the vacuum. I use them to turn my vacuum into a nice, shorter hand vacuum to clean my vehicle. The only thing that I would wish is that the base had enough space to put away both tools. The base, instead, only allows for storage of one device.
--- APPROVAL ---
I definitely recommend this to anyone with multiple types of floors on their home. The auto-detect floor surface, edge detection, and dark area detection remove a lot of the hassles from vacuuming. The auto-empty base is impressive to watch and will allow you to use the vacuum more often before needing to empty the base.

Who doesn’t love to vacuum? Well, most people. But, if you have to do it, it might be nice to look forward to some aspect that makes the job easier, more effective or stylish. Inasmuch as the stylish crown may be all but sewn up by some of Shark’s competitors that typically make products that look like poster children for SolidWorks ads, let’s look at some of the other bites taken by this Shark’s feature set.
The main differentiating feature of this vacuum is the self-evacuating function that allows for accumulated debris in the vacuum to be removed from the vacuum into a larger holding chamber on the charging base that allows for less frequent disposal. The manufacturer suggests that you may be emptying that chamber monthly, but your results will undoubtedly vary. The methodology is not too different from that of a toilet in the restroom on a plane, that when flushed, allows for rapid removal of contaminants courtesy of powerful cross-airflow. The debris in the holding chamber of the base could potentially be unpleasant smelling (think pet hair), so there is a replaceable, anti-odor cartridge that is employed to counter this. There was no indication in the documentation that I recall to suggest the life of the cartridge.
A pleasant design surprise is the inclusion of an easily removable battery that would potentially allow for a larger home to be vacuumed at one time, with the purchase, and use of, spare battery pack(s). I assume that the original battery pack, XBTR625KSL is available for purchase as spares. Thankfully, this feature is becoming more popular in the industry.
Other differentiating features of this model include a reactively lit, over-articulating motorized floor attachment to spot and vanquish your debris, and vacuuming modes that include Auto, Eco, and Boost modes. Within the definition and use of the Auto mode, lies four dirt detection methods that the manufacturer describes as; DirtDetect that identifies higher levels of dirt and boosts the vacuum accordingly, FloorDetect that responds to surface changes and responds for optimal vacuuming, EdgeDetect that responds to edges and corners and increases suction to pull out anticipated dirt from hard to access corners and edges, and finally, LightDetect that illuminates dark areas to help you see and direct the floor nozzle to capture hiding debris. The modes other than Auto are Eco and Boost and as you can imagine, Eco attempts to maximize battery power and Boost says, to heck with it, I am going to suck up that dirt as fast as I can, with gusto, until that battery flat-out dies. Also, in Eco and Boost mode, none of the auto-mode features are activated. Another positive attribute is the omission of a trigger switch requiring a user to have to constantly press a trigger to run the vacuum. I know my fingers and hand cramp up after awhile when using a vacuum with that requirement. In the past, I have transitioned from every kind of previous style vacuum imaginable and with each rendition and newly imagined format of vacuum device, comes improvements, and this model falls squarely into that camp. Time will tell how the differentiating features will prove themselves, but so far, I am mostly happy with the performance.
Minor issues on the dark side:
The vacuum’s white and black “storm-trooper’s dorm” esthetic is interesting, but may not be to everyone’s taste. The automatic modes of this vacuum are constantly varying the motor speed, beater head speed, and vacuum noise in response to the detected dirt environment. Whereas, that is probably a good thing for short-term performance, I can’t imagine that the battery and motor life isn’t going to be impacted long term, plus it’s just a little annoying, noise-wise. In addition, although the flat-floor-vacuum-performance (such as when used on hardwood and tile) is very satisfying, I’m slightly less impressed with the beater performance on carpet, from the aspect of lofting the fibers to the extent that you can feel the difference when you walk over a newly vacuumed section. Suctioning dirt and hair from the carpet, seems to be competent, and I have no anecdotal evidence to indicate otherwise. The dust collection chamber is on the small side and suction is noticeably inhibited when there is a large amount of debris in that chamber, prompting more frequent evacuations at the charging base.
Included documentation is a bit dated-looking, unimaginative and minimal at best. Although to be fair, it is indicated as a, “Quick Start Guide”. I’m sure that with a little effort, an identity-enhancing improvement could be employed, perhaps cloning design elements from the sales-oriented portion of the website, as opposed to the QR-code-linked support site which to me, suffers from disarray due to numerous, confusing, and unorganized model numbers. Also, in this Quick Start Guide, the hand vacuum storage clip is shown located on the main wand which makes sense, but trying to figure out how to mount the Hand Vacuum Accessory to it, is a whole nother kettle of fish. Perhaps either a drawing showing how it’s supposed to fit, or perhaps supplying a part that actually fits, would be a solution.
Lastly, when you align the unit vertically, it locks the floor nozzle to an angle of 90 degrees to the wand. However, when locked in this position, the vacuum is not balanced sufficiently to allow it to stand up on its own. I don’t see a benefit to this locking mode, considering that it is aggravating to regularly have to unlock the floor nozzle to go back to the normal angled vacuum mode (requiring you to tap it into position with your foot).
Overall, this product is a useful, effective, and mostly satisfying product that has a few minor shortcomings in performance and documentation support.

Great lightweight stick vac

This is a fantastic cordless stick vac system that is lightweight, powerful, and on par with Dyson (I have a V8+ Animal with which I could compare) but at a lower price. The vacuum itself is very easy to operate, with an automatic detection system that will adjust the vacuum power depending on how much debris it's picking up. It will also increase power when it detects that you're vacuuming next to a wall, in order to suck up debris better along the edge. You can manually turn on a Boost option that gives more power regardless of what's being sucked up, although this will obviously use up battery more quickly. The main brushroller head rolls very smoothly, and there's a nice LED headlight that also brightens on one side if you're vacuuming the edge of the floor next to a wall. The vacuum is lighter than my Dyson V8+ Animal, which makes it more comfortable to hold and push.
Like many of these stick vacs, there are no bags involved -- debris gets sucked into a small chamber in the stick vac, and when you put the vac back into the dock, the dock itself sucks that debris into its larger storage chamber. It is then very easy to remove that chamber and empty it into the garbage. There's an "odor neutralizer" plug-in that can be replaced (not sure how much those cost), but since the kind of debris that's being vacuumed in my house doesn't cause significant odors, I don't think I'll have to bother with replacing it.
There's a crevice tool and a pet hair brush that are pretty standard with most stick vacs. The manual states up to 60 minutes of use without a charge, but that's only if you're using the Eco mode the whole time -- this isn't a real problem, though, because the use case for these kinds of vacuums is for intermittent usage of fairly small areas, rather than an uninterrupted vacuum run of a huge house.
Overall, an excellent vacuum. I find myself using it more often than my Dyson, because it's more lightweight and because it's a little easier to place it back in its dock.

The Shark Cordless Detect Pro Auto-Empty System with QuadClean Multi-Surface Brushroll has many great qualities. I own a similar type vacuum already and there are things on this vacuum that are welcomed improvement over the other one.
The vacuum comes very well packaged. The set up was not difficult. There is initial charging time of the battery before you can use the unit. The battery took around 4-5 hours to charge.
The perks of this cordless vac are that it's corless and light weight!! It has LED lights that comes on automatically when there is low light in the room. It has an auto empty feature that can be turned on or off. The auto empty function on this vac is amazing. I have seen huge wads of dirt go in every time. I initially thought I'd have to manually empty the big dust hauls, but I was happily mistaken. On all my other auto empty vacs, there have been times that the dust wads were too big to go through the suction receptacle. I intentionally put this one to the test. I like to empty the vac collection bin when I see the suction screen completely covered. I personally would not fill the whole bin up before emptying, it just takes a few seconds to place it on the unit and have the vac bin cleared out. ALSO! They put a mild floral air freshener on the auto empty bin. If your bin has stinky dog hair and such, now it won't blast the smell all over. Very nice touch. The level of floral intensity can also be adjusted from zero on up.
Now for a really big perk, the bin that collects the auto empty dirt is BAGLESS. I can't believe it. I have been asking for a bagless auto empty vac and bin because after buying a fancy vacuum, the last thing I want to do is have to pay to replace a vacuum bag. This bin is glorious. It's got lots of space and can easily hold the gunk that gets vacuumed. They estimate emptying the large bin about 1 x a month and that seems like an honest estimate.
The unit comes with 2 attachments. I am a big fan of the brush attachment (which can break down further to just a small suction head with no brush if desired too). The other attachment is an 8 inch crevice tool. The unit has a spot to hold the crevice tool when not in use. The other brush does not have holder. I keep it close by in a drawer. It would have been nice to have the brush on the unit at the ready instead of the crevice tool at the ready. I won't use the crevice tool nearly as much as the brush. The other good thing about the brush is it's width. I can make a pass on my base boards in a single sweep since it's wide enough to catch the top and bottom of the board. The self detect suction feature does not work as well with the brush attachment. I had to manually change it to moderate/high suction because the auto setting and eco setting were not grabbing all the crumbs. Not big deal though.
The vac is great on stairs. It's the right width and it's light weight.
The battery life seems comparable to the others on the market. I usually run out when I put it on max power in hand held mode for a long time. Otherwise, it seems adequate for my floor cleaning sessions.
Another good feature is the vac stick and head can rest on the holder if it's removed when using it in hand held mode. Seems like a no-brainer, but my other brand does not do this.
The main deficiency I have found for this unit is the battery location. It sticks out and prevents the vac from going under the bed deep enough to reach all areas. This problem could be easily fixed with added swivel function at the head of the vac. However, the head does not allow the stick to pivot much side to side. This vac is so close to being beyond amazing if that feature is corrected. The height of the vac is fixed. Some other brands allow for height adjustment. I don't mind the height, I might if I was a lot shorter or a lot taller. I'm average (5'6"). I really wish there were 1/2 star increments because the battery location/obstruction does annoy me when I am vacuuming under the bed and falling short. The the 5 stars is really 4.5 because the vacuum isn't perfect, but it's close.

Auto-Empty System is Amazing, Vacuum is wonderful

The Shark Detect Pro cordless vacuum is a big improvement from some of my previous Shark battery vacuums, but the real star of the show is the Auto-Empty Charging Base which really elevates this system to the next level.
I have some devices, like Roombas that have auto-empty systems and I have compact battery vacuum systems that have wall-hanging charging docks that also hold accessories, but this is the first time I've had a vacuum that does both. Its just SO convenient and satisfying to see all the dirt and dander in the canister just disappear as its vacuumed in the Auto-Empty base.
The base has an indicator that lights up when it is full and there's also a nice odor puck that can be removed and replaced. When the Vacuum auto-empties, the vacuumed air is exhausted through the Odor Neutralizing filter so you smell fragance instead of that dusty dirt dander smell. Very cool and convenient feature.
The Detect Pro Vacuum itself is very pleasant looking with a white and brass finish with the purple roller accents. Its very well built and sturdy; I was most impressed by the long attachment was light but didn't wobble or have any play with the brushroll head attached while vacuuming. I have some squeaking and a lot of play on some of my other vacuums like my Samsung Jet75. Shark has also really consolidated the number of attachments which probably makes sense as it takes up less room and a lot of people may not have swapped heads that much. I know I didn't, I tended to use the Carpet attachment on everything, but Shark now has a 4-in-1 brushroller head which works pretty well. Not as good as the full fuzzy hard surface roller but still good. There's also a crevice tool attachment and pet-multi-tool (larger brushed head). The crevice tool can be stored on the Auto-Empty base, not sure where to put the pet-multi tool. Also, the plastic attachment on the long neck piece apparently holds the vacuum base for traveling to make it more compact. Not really sure who is going to make use of that honestly.
So the EdgeDetect system just works OK. When moving from carpet to hardwood, the power is supposed to ramp up after detecting the transition as the suction vacuum seal is greater against the carpet while there is less suction/vacuum on hardwoods, so ramping up is needed to get bits of dirt. FloorDetect senses hardwood and carpets, and LightDetect senses areas under furniture to light up darker areas. Honestly they don't seem to make a huge difference or I'm just focused on cleaning, although Edge Detect does seem to ramp up the vacuum power unless you are already on max setting, which I am.
Battery life seems really optimistic at 60 minutes. I tend to go full power because I have a cat and kids and limited time and it seems like I get about 25 minutes on carpet and hardwoods. I have a Ruggable and some hardwood in our Family room where the Shark Detect Pro lives and I'm at around 1 bar after doing that room in 20 minutes or so.
So far so good with this system, I love the convenience of the charging base and auto-empty system and it looks fantastic as well. I also don't have to drill anything into the wall, which means no anchors in drywall or getting loose over time, or patching holes and painting if/when that vacuum dies eventually. Really enjoying the Detect Pro Auto-Empty System!

I wanted to get a vacuum for my son in his new apartment and the Shark’s Quadclean Detect Pro cordless vacuum looked like a good one. I have a different cordless, wall mounted vacuum at home. I decided to try this out before giving it to my son. I liked the idea of a self emptying bin and a free standing charger that doesn’t require mounting.
The vacuum cleaner is lightweight and easy to maneuver. It gets under cabinets well, and even manages to pick up dirt on the edges. The brush is designed with both fins and felt, so the roller is equally at home on carpet and bare floors. The vacuum will also detect if you are vacuuming on a bare floor or carpet and adjusts the roller speed as needed.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work as well as the noise would suggest. The vacuum works best on hard floors where the fin/roller combination will sweep debris without kicking it around. On carpet, the design isn’t powerful enough to pick up much, even at maximum power. By default, the vacuum.sets its suction level to auto. This allows the dirt sensor to determine if you need more or less suction. Unfortunately, I found that it leaves a lot of cat hair on the carpet. The pictures show the dirt picked up by Shark’s vacuum as well as the hair and dirt picked up by my older Samsung vacuum after the Shark was used.
The battery on the Shark charges faster then my Samsung, taking only 2 hours to reach a full charge. The free standing charger and dirt storage base are handy as they can put anywhere that’s convenient. The auto emptying feature works well and is handy as the vacuum’s dirt container is small. I also like that each time the vacuum is docked, it releases a pleasant smell from the built in air freshener.
Overall, the extra features do not make up for the poor cleaning performance on carpets. The reason to get a vacuum is to clean the house. If you only have bare floors, this will be effective. While the Shark adds convenience compared to a broom and dust pan, it comes at a steep price.

This vacuum is a great vacuum. I have two cats and it picks up everything. No hair ever gets tangle on the head brushes. It is so powerful you have to watch out for those cat toys. It will suck them right up.i really LOVE the self emptying feature. The self emptying feature is great for my allergies. Also very easy to empty the holding tank and you do not have to touch any of the nasty stuff. The only downfall of the vacuum is the battery. I can get my whole place no problem at all, but if I need to vacuum my cat tower and the floor the same day. You have to space it out due to the battery. I do recommend this vacuum highly. Even used it to clean my car. Worked great.

I have had many Shark vacuums over the years, cordless and with cords. This by far is my favorite vacuum so far. My last one was on its way out, and with moving to a new home I felt this would be the perfect time. I’m used to auto-emptying with robot vacuums, but this was my first time hearing, or experiencing this feature with a cordless, upright vacuum.
Out of the box setup was very easy, and it was very well packaged and secure. One I connected the pieces, and plugged it in I also decided to put the odor neutralizer even though I no longer have carpet like I did in the past. The smell is always amazing and the even though I no longer have carpet, it’s still a great feature.
It’s very slick and slim looking, the base and the vacuum itself. It fits nicely in a corner in the upstairs loft and isn’t an eyesore in my opinion. Having a dog and asthma sufferers in the home the HEPA anti-allergen container is another added benefit.
The vacuum is lightweight, and really glides across the floor. With the detect pro feature, it can tell when I am vacuuming one of my area rugs and will switch to an higher speed instantly. Anytime there is a lot of debris it will also switch power from the quieter softer hardwood detection speed. It hasn’t damaged my flooring at all, and having the lights in the front allows me to vacuum without having to turn hallway lights on. The auto emptying has a quiet mode as well, in case you don’t want the added noise every time you put it back, and in all honesty it isn’t as loud as I’ve experienced with robot vacuums. You can see the dirt emptying in a whirlwind motion which is also pretty cool.
This is by far my favorite vacuum I have worked to date. Great features, great suction, non damaging, and quiet. You can’t ask for more, then they add an auto emptying feature on top of it. You won’t be disappointed

Very impressed with this little but powerful vacuum. Assembly was very easy and came some charge so I could use it right away. It wasn't a full charge so it didn't last long. But already picked up more than other battery vac it was replacing.
It took a little adjustment not to have a trigger on/off but rather a on/off button at the end of the handheld. But this is also where you see the status and battery strength.
It has 4 nice sensors. One will detect the level of dirt on the floor and increase suction if there is more dirt. Second will detect the floor type and adjust power and rotating bar as needed for carpet, rugs or hard floor surfaces (I have all tile and area rugs). Third increases power when cleaning floor edges, next to a baseboard or wall. And the fourth sensor turns on a light in darker areas.
I've noticed the battery will last 20-30 mins. Place it back on the auto-empty system and boom... everything is sucked out of the vacuum and into the base of the holder. It's quick and fun to watch. Then the base recharges the vacuum for your next use.
I almost didn't get the auto-empty system version but I have to say I'm really glad I did. Each time I need the vacuum, it's charged and clean and ready to go.

I find the self-emptying feature of this unit to be exceptionally convenient, as it greatly simplifies maintenance. The bin's removal is remarkably effortless, adding to the overall ease of use. However, I do wish the battery life were somewhat extended; currently, I can only vacuum about three-quarters of my home before needing to recharge. On the positive side, the suction power is commendable, particularly with the rotating brush in use. Additionally, removing the brush head reveals an impressively strong suction capability.

Never thought I’d get excited about a stick vacuum but I’m taken back to my child hood with this…explanation coming but first the technical stuff! There are a couple different power modes with this shark cordless detect PRO with my favorite part, auto empty. Eco mode is your low power which is fine for zooming around wood floors for light dust. Auto mode and is going to be your go to mode for mindless vacuuming and really you never need to take it off of this mode. Auto mode has dirt detect which sends a boost when it detects excess dust/dirt/debris , floor detect so the brush roll knows if you’re on carpet or wood and adjusts itself accordingly, hits corners great with edge detect and even adjust lighting based on need. How awesome! The third mode, Boost will drain your battery but is much more powerful. Hit it for a second if you need it but really it’ll do it on its own in auto mode. Let the detect technology do the work for you! This does great for picking up after two dogs on wood floors mixed with varying depth throw carpets. Very happy with the amount of dirt it picks up. Sad I have that much dirt…BUT the auto empty! My favorite feature. There is a canister that houses the dirt that is also a holder for the vacuum. When you hang it up, it automatically sucks the dirt from the vacuum canister and makes a fun suction sound and it reminds me of ghostbusters trapping a ghost but I’m trapping dirt. It really amuses me. I hope you find the same joy in this. It’s a great vacuum. Check out the dirt trapping video!

This vacuum is worth every penny. I wanted to be able to vacuum tile, hard wood, AND carpet without needing a huge vacuum as I don't have a lot of extra space in my townhouse for storage. Plus lugging a heavy vacuum up and down stairs, risking spilling the dirt and contents is a nightmare. This vacuum solves every problem. It's light. Convenient. And works better than I ever expected a stick vacuum would on every type of floor. If you're looking for this type of vacuum, this is the one. The battery life, if being used on carpet, will be about half the time in a single charge because it will use more power. That's the only con, but I never need to vacuum for a full hour so this has yet to be an issue.

Glad I purchased this vacuum for our new home. Picks up debri sufficiently around corners and furniture. Detects when there is more debri and automatically increases power to get the job done. It is fairly quiet overall. The lightweight design and swiveling head makes maneuvering a breeze. The self-emptying bin is definitely a plus decreasing the times you have to empty the actual bin on the handheld portion. But do be aware, the self-emptying bin can be a little noisy. Otherwise, a nicely designed vacuum and a great buy!

Biggest complaint is that the battery dies quickly. The suction works best on the highest setting which will drain the battery more. The base is very handy and does a good job at clearing out the dirt. It can also hold a lot so it doesn’t need to be emptied often. Wouldn’t purchase for full price but a great choice if you can get it on sale.

I love how light weight this vacuum is and I also like how you can detach it. The portability of this vacuum doesn't strain my arm.
Fun fact, you can just use the vacuum itself to seal Storage bags!! The auto empty system is pretty neat, not having to deal with the dust and dirt while trying to empty it.
Cons:
It does tend to have a short battery life even though its always charged. I hope they can fix that.
