Pros: 1. Lightweight, Portable and Compact - This Portable Carpet cleaner weighs just 8.51 pounds and it is hence really portable. Its really handy to use the carpet cleaner on any floor of the building or even to clean the car seats with ease. We don't have to worry about having multiple carpet cleaners for different floors or carrying the bulky carpet cleaners from one floor to another. Also the Carpet cleaner is really compact that it is easy to store the it under the Wash basin inside the cabinet. 2. Multi purpose - We can clean the Carpet or Area rugs or Upholstery or even the Car seats (Fabric). To clean the smaller stains this Portable carpet cleaner is really helpful. With the brush width of 3.5 inches it is easy clean small to medium size stains with less effort. 3. Powerful cleaning solution - As per Shark it is mentioned that the Cleaning solution is 20x powerful. Not sure if the solution is 20x more powerful but the solution is really powerful to remove even the stubborn stains like mud or colors or ketchup stains very easily. After spraying the solution couple of times the stain just disappears. Dual activated stain eliminator with no pre-mix required not only removes the stains but also the odor from the carpet very effectively. I have used the bigger Carpet cleaners which I have rented from Lowes in the past. They were powerful machines that were capable of removing the stains in few attempts. But I was really surprised to see how powerful the cleaning solution and the portal cleaner where. It just took couple of sprays before the stain got removed. 4. Powerful suction - This Carpet cleaner has a 33 Amps motor that has a very good suction than its competitors which pulls out the liquid and dirt deep down in the carpet to make it look like new again. Again this a great feature i love about this portable carpet cleaner. 5. Multiple tools - This Portable Carpet cleaner comes with multiple tools like - Integrated Crevice tool, 3.5" reversible bristle tool, Pet tool and Hose clean tool. These tools makes lives easier without having to use the same tool for different stains. Especially the Pet tool might come in handy for people who have pets and are worried about using the same Carpet cleaner to clean the pet stains. With the Pet tool one can easily clean the pet mess and also clean it easily. Also the Hose clean tool comes in handy to clean the hose. One has to just insert it and then press the trigger for the carpet cleaner to clean the hose itself. Also for very small stains, we don't have to use the 3.5 inch brush instead we can use the Crevice tool which has the inbuilt brush to spray and clean the very smaller areas of carpet or upholstery. This is really compact and very nice addition. Shark has applied nice thought when designing this. 6. Cord length - I am really happy that Shark has provided the cable that is 12 feet long. This is great especially when we have to clean the stains on the carpet that are little far away from the wall socket or even for the car seats. 12 feet of length makes it really comfortable to use it without having to use an extension cord. Cons: None Final verdict: For 140$, this multipurpose carpet and upholstery cleaner does a real great job when compared to its competitors. The suction is super strong and the liquid that is provided with the cleaner is really powerful in both eliminating the stains very easily but also providing a nice odor to make the carpet look like brand new. Pet cleaning tool is a nice addition and great for people who owns the dog or even children as they clean up the mess separately without having to clean the bigger unit. Overall this is a great cleaning tool and worth every single dollar spent on this machine. Really love it and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who does not want to buy a bulky pricey machine to clean the smaller areas of the house and at the same time who doesn't want to compromise on the cleaning.

I was on the fence about getting this but have loved my shark vacuums in the past Very happy with the purchase. Cleaned my dining room chairs and my couch. Love the sample of cleaning solution and had to buy that. Of course the tank is small like most cleaners this size but that's too be expected.

Easy to use and very effective in cleaning tough stains

Stain remover works great but I removed a star from the rating because it is missing parts. Two of the extensions were missing when I received it.

It works like a champ! Cleans deep down dirt that you don’t even know is there.

It does the job for the price it is. I do wish that the cord was a bit more manoverable and the suction power could be better but it gets things clean.

This is actually a pretty neatly designed little unit. Engineering is outstanding. Everything fit well, stays tight, and it's so ridiculously compact. They ship it with the two bottles of product to use with it. One of them is a concentrate that you dilute with the water tank. The other is the other cleaning agent that is used straight. The concentrate is an absolutely tiny amount in the water tank - they have a fill line for water, then the fill line after the water is in there to show how much concentrate to put in there. It's like a centimeter or so from the water fill line to the concentrate fill line, so you don't use much of that. This box came with two attachments - the normal cleaning head, and a pet mess cleaning head. I have no pet so can't test that, but I like the way it has its own reservoir to keep the pet mess out of the main dirty water tank. This little one is going to allow a much easier job of cleanup. I don't have any new stains to clean. My carpet has sustained stains from my son as he grew up, but the last stain is over a year old since he graduated and moved out 15 months ago. So I tried on some of the newest ones. I wasn't expecting much, since this seems like a pretty small device, and I didn't imagine much power inside. It is very simple to use. The main cleaning head has a reversible scrubbing part, so one side has standard bristles on it like a brush, the other side has the rubbery points, so you can choose which will work best on the material and it flips over easily. As soon as I hit the power button, I realized that my assumption of a lack of power was probably false - this thing is LOUD with a piercing pitch to it that really didn't sit well with my tinnitus. But that also told me that there's a motor in here that is definitely generating suction. I had a few different types of stains to test on where he used to sit at the dining table. A few were dark spots where something fell in small, concentrated spots. A couple others were larger area ones where something like a drink or something was spilled. My kid had ADD so he'd hide the fact that anything happened when he could until it was too late to do a simple removal. I didn't make too much of an effort later since I knew the carpet was going to be replaced at some point after he moved with hardwood floors. So this would give me a good test run. I had mixed results. A few of the dark, concentrated spots are lighter now than they were before in color, so they're not so noticeable. A few didn't get impacted at all. The other spots where it looked like some kind of drink was spilled, did a bit better for the cleanup, even all this time later. One or two of them I can still notice if I look closely, but a couple of them I can't find anymore at all. I would think this would really excel at a fresh stain. The cleaning agent must be quite effective if it did anything at all to some of these older stains, and the suction that it produces is amazing for the size. The areas were a little damp after I was finished, and dried quickly, so it definitely was pulling the moisture out. Cleanup was actually a pleasant surprise. Everything comes apart easily and makes for fast rinsing and emptying. The hose itself has a special cap that goes over the end you attach the cleaning brushes to, and basically loops the cleaning fluid back right into the suction tube. In maybe 3 or 4 minutes I had it laid out in the bathroom already drying from my cleaning. So your mileage may vary on older marks on materials, but on something fresh, this should do a very good job.

The Shark® StainStriker™ Portable Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner is not an exception, but in my opinion, a more advanced and portable solution that I found in the market. You have in your box the machine with three different reservoirs: one for clean water and soap, one for the extra cleaner, and the last one as a reservoir for the liquid after vacuuming the cleaned area. That means that you just need to fill the two reservoirs with detergent, connect to the power, and after turning on the device, spray the stain with the cleaning liquid after a few interactions with the brush just vacuum the area. The strong suction ensures that all dirty water will be collected directly in the reservoir that you will just empty in your bathroom. With three tools of different sizes depending on your area, you can cover all types of dirt or spills on your different surfaces. I appreciate that Shark is adding to the box two of their cleaning product as a big sampling: soap and their “stain-striking” soap for heavy-duty stains. They both work right and it’s enough quantity for the two weeks that I’ve been using the machine. With a superlight 9-pound weight is perfect for cleaning areas of difficult access but also to do the cleaning process directly over the stain, for example directly on your sofa or your curtain. I was observing that with this technology, I am saving the time of dismounting the curtain from the rails or separating the fabric from the cushion to put in the washing machine. The final big test was over my large living room carpet, after a pizza party with my 13 y-o. In a previous life, I imagined a couple of days process of cleaning the affected area with some clean cloth and dry soap solution, using a brush and vacuuming only after being completely dry, with the shark cleaner that was a 15-minute total operation and a perfect result, with all dirt (tomato sauce) collected in one container. With so many items in small spaces, I like that the cleaning machine requires very small storage space. The possibility of the electric wire and vacuum tubes all rolled up around your machine makes it all less disorganized. Finally, a good reminder that Shark covers its products with a large guarantee, three years in this case. I call this a no-risk investment because based on my previous experience with a different Shark product, I can add that behind that guarantee there is a great post-sales team.
