It makes your clothes smell like burning rubber

I wish I could give this unit negative 5 stars. I really did try to give it a chance and used it for around 30 days. I washed about 4 loads a week, in varying sizes and bulkiness - from a few shirts and pants, to large bedding. The unit has a water pump that heats up and that’s how it dries clothing. It made my clothes smell like burnt tires and every time. I tried to clean it multiple times with vinegar, I ran the tub wash setting, and even tried woolite. Still stank like burning rubber. You will not get that satisfying fresh out of the dryer feel with this unit. It also takes forever to dry things. It also doesn’t dry well.
The TLDR: It makes your clothes stink like burning rubber, takes forever to dry, still leaves your clothes damp and is just nothing like a traditional dryer because of the heat pump it has. It’s a terrible machine and I had to finally exchange it for a regular gas dryer.

The washer is awesome the only downfall is it takes 3 to 4 hours to dry but considering that it’s ventless and it uses a heat pump it makes sense I would no trade it because of the ability I have to put this in my apartment where I don’t have a laundry room is well worth it.

I was a little skeptical events ability to dry effectively giving the method however aside from the time it takes to dry you can't really tell the difference I really don't understand why everyone doesn't have a unit like this although I must say I was looking at the wattage I'll be interested to see if there is an increase in my electric bill we'll see but slowly based off experience highly recommend it's an investment and as I said it's worth every penny

I've had this machine for about a month now and I have to say I'm very happy that I purchased this machine it was a hard decision but i decided on this one because of its size its a great machine washes and dries really well they should of thought of this idea a long time ago not everyone has space in their home for a separate washer and dryer so this was great for me I'm still getting use to all the settings being theres so many but if you purchase it you wont be disappointed!

I love having one matchine to set and forget. But we have encountered a few things we have to say may have not been the best choice. The loads have to be very small to dry completely after the 2-3 hours. And our shirts or uniforms come out of the dryer wrinkled which didn’t have that issue with a separate dryer / washer machines. We are having to do an additional drying cycle for 30 min to make sure it dries but remains wrinkled. We have also noticed the top of the dryer seems to collect dust on the top where the filter is located so the dryer looks dirty.
After the month, we were re-thinking the investment since our last washer and dryer had lasted us 8 years and still was drying. The only reason we purchased this machine was to upgrade and hope to see a decrease in energy consumption.

Hi, Becca. Thank you for sharing your detailed experience with the WM6998HBA Washer Dryer Combo. It’s important that your appliance meets your needs effectively. Here are some tips to help improve your experience:
1. For optimal drying, try to keep the load sizes smaller. Washer dryer combos typically handle smaller loads better than traditional separate machines. Overloading can result in longer drying times and wrinkles.
2. To reduce wrinkles, consider using the Wrinkle Care or similar setting if available. You can also try removing items promptly once the cycle is complete and hanging them up immediately to minimize wrinkling.
3. If you find that clothes aren’t fully dry after the initial cycle, using a short additional drying cycle is a good practice. However, ensure the load isn’t too large as this can hinder the drying efficiency.
4. Regularly cleaning the filter and wiping down the exterior can help keep your machine looking clean and prevent dust buildup.
5. While washer dryer combos can be efficient, their drying capabilities can differ from separate units. Monitoring energy consumption can help gauge if the expected savings are being met.

Coming in the LG washer seemed like it will be a perfect fit for my home and family, but it was nothing what I expected. The washer itself washes the clothes nicely and get them clean the cycles that it have are good cycles, but the drying capacity and timeframe takes a very long time. I’m finding myself having to re-dry the clothes. It takes over four hours for clothes to dry to then have to Restart the dryer to dry the clothes all over again the lint box is always asking to be cleaned, even when it’s not nearly any lit in the screen, great concept, poor production.

Hi, Anna. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us regarding the LG Wash Combo (WM6998HBA) model. We understand your concern about the drying capacity and the extended drying times. We aim to offer top-notch products that exceed our customers' needs and expectations. Here are a couple of things you can try to improve drying performance: check that the vent hose isn’t kinked and is properly connected, as airflow issues can slow drying. Lint can also accumulate in the vent system, so inspect it thoroughly. Additionally, avoid overloading the dryer; try smaller loads to increase efficiency. If these tips don’t help, message us on social media @LGUSSupport with your unit details, and our team will assist you. ^Juvy

New to owning a LG, I got to say I love the flexibility of washing and drying in the same machine. At times I need to give heavier clothes an extra 30min. to dry, but well worth it. unit is LG - 5.0 Cu. Ft. I like this product, easy to use, works quickly and efficiently, compared to another combo I had before, this one has a difference from heaven to earth and as for drying, I compare it with a traditional dryer, I was impressed with its finish. I recommend it without any problem.

Nice machine. Love not having to transfer wet clothes from washer to dryer. Heavier loads not quite dry all the time may need additional 15-20 minutes drying.

This does the job, but it isn't as good as an ordinary washer/dryer combo. It takes about 3.5 hours to do a full cycle, and unlike a typical washer/dryer combo, you cannot wash another load of clothes while the previous one is drying. On the positive side, it just runs on a 110 outlet and does not need a vent. We have this in our garage as the "backup" unit in case the other one is unavailable for some reason.

This far this unit has been amazing. No switching of laundry. We have not had any issues with items coming out moist like people mentioned about these all in ones. Yes, a whole cycle takes longer but how many of us sit and wait for the washer to end so we can immediately switch it to the dryer. For us, with work, it has actually saved time. Plus it uses next to no electricity.

Still early, hoping it will stay great. No vent to worry about, runs on regular wall power, so easy. Dry times are longer, but I dont care about time and don't do a lot of loads a week. If you do a lot of laundry this is probably not for you.

So far so good. Quiet. Efficient. Very little lint as compared to my last dryer. Just ran a larger load to see how it would perform, and it performed just as well as it did with smaller loads. Only had to add drying time once with some towels, but that happened with my past dryers too. And I really didn't need to add much more time. Interestingly, the larger load was not the one that required more time!

So far, so good. Only downside is the size makes loads smaller and takes longer to dry. May need to buy a second one to maximize time...
