Install was simple using the app but one rear speaker did not initially pair so I had to web search how to and it connected with no issue. Instructions could/should be better. Sound quality is incredible in comparison to my Platin Milan 5.1. Store associate who assisted my purchase was fantastic in saving me an additional $300 by signing up for store member program so out of the store it was $1300 as it was on sale too.

But I moved and no longer had the space. After looking at many different soundbars, this one did not disappoint! I think the sound might even be better than my previous system. And the wireless connection for the rear speakers and sub is a game changer.

Where's the Bass ?

Very happy with the quality of material and ease of setup. Now for the part that counts, sound. The high range I give a A+.. The mid range I give a C .. For Bass sound where is it ? The Bass for what little it has is just muted and not clear. The phone app needs more options. Overall I give this system a C, Not very happy with it.

We appreciate you taking a moment to review the Samsung HW-Q990D Soundbar.
You can manually optimize your audio experience by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (which looks like a gear), you can set the audio function such as Auto EQ, Spacefit sound, AVA, Voice Enhance mode, Night mode, Sync, Surround speaker mode, Virtual. The desired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.
Alternatively, you can press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons.
You can try quickly optimizing the audio by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.
To control the volume of each speaker, press the CH LEVEL button on the provided remote. Then select CENTER LEVEL, SIDE LEVEL, WIDE LEVEL, FRONT TOP LEVEL, REAR LEVEL, or REAR TOP LEVEL. Once you find the channel you are looking for, adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
There are multiple ways to control the bass levels for your new Soundbar.
1) Using the WOOFER button on the provided Soundbar remote. Use the woofer button by pushing forward or pulling backward on the button itself to adjust the bass levels between -12 or -6/+6. If you want to reset the bass to 0 then push the button in.
2) When you press the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the treble or bass levels between -6/+6.
Within the SmartThings app under Advanced settings, you can easily activate the Bass Boost feature to add more of a punch to whatever you are watching or listening to.

Pricey!! Sound rocks!!!

I have it matched up with a Samsung 90c and works extremely well with qsymphony. My only complaint would be the rear speakers but only the look of them since they haven’t changed the design but overall a great sounding experience that can only be delivered by the q990d.

Surround sound adds a ton to the experience. Before I bought this I was contemplating buying another cheap soundbar and this sounds so much better. Also the rear speakers only having a power cord makes it much easier to fit in my room. It's expensive but in the long run worth it

Not only does it have amazing sound quality but if you have it connected to a Samsung tv or other Samsung products you can customize it to your sound likings through the SmartThings app. Simply put, it is just 1 more amazing product Samsung has made for all of us to enjoy life's simple pleasures. Highly recommend it to everyone.
