Sucks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always had issues with my switch controllers kept breaking all year long and they said they fixed it but then it broke again within a few months. Idk I wasn’t hard on them. I played once or twice a month. I think it’s just cheaply made.also they said they fixed the problem many times but finally just gave me a new one. New one hasn’t broken down a whole year.

The new warranty is trash and you lost 5 gamers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This warranty is garbage and my geek squad bent over backwards to try to fix it, but they changed the wording on the warranty and never informed me and they messed up the price when i checked out so i never got my money back that i should have. Never getting the best buy warranty again, and that was the only reason i ever shopped at best buy.

I Feel Scammed!

Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a Nintendo Switch OLED(white) , so I thought it was smart to purchase the 2 year acidental geek squad protection plan. One joy con broke off from the unit, I took it in to Geek Squad. They sent it in for repair and determined the joy cons needed to be replaced. I get the joy cons in the mail and attach them back to the unit and then attempt to attach my shell case again for protection. Well, the case now doesnt fit on the joy cons. The joy cons I received are not by Nintendo, they are aftermarket, they will not attach at all. I go back in to Geek Squad and was told its nothing they can do, if they send them back in, they will send another pair of aftermarket joy cons. The 2 year protection cost $60, new Nintendo joy cons cost $80. So, I either pay $80 for new non- matching color pair of joy cons ao that I can attach my case or go witout a case with these oversized aftermarket white joycons. I couldve saved money and bought new joy cons, instead I purchased the warranty for a peace of mine, and I got everything, but that. $60 gone down the drain. SCAM.

Very disappointed

I bought my sons nintendo on Jan 5th 2021 along with the 2year geek squad accidental plan. Had my sons nintedo fixed, not replaced, 1 time and some how some way my plan gets cancelled. No where on the fine print of the geek squad protection plan does it say the plan is to get cancelled after 1 use. Ive tried going into the oxnard location to show them that my plan is still active and they turn me down. Ive called and theyve transferred me to geek squad and their phones don't work. I call myself and I get the same thing. Its my 1st and last time buying anything from BestBuy . Im so frustrated!

Not being allowed to make an appointment via phone

It's because when I called what was supposed to be the local store number someone from somewhere else picks up and makes an appointment for me to come to my local store then neglects to tell me it'll cost somewhere around $70 for a warrenty covered repair or replacement. I find out the day of the appointment via a call from my local store and now here at the first of the next month when a may have all the money to cover whatever fees I try calling to make an appointment and can't get passed all the automated responses to talk to a person and make an appointment!

Geek squad denied coverage

I went in multiple times and all they said was I needed new controls and would order me some. The last time I went in I never receive the controls they said they would order for the second time. I kept explaining to them that it was a chipped piece and please replace device and they said they needed to see the device actually broken. I gave up and never used my switch again spent extra money for coverage that was not helpful. The Greek squad did not cover me and they did not want to help. San Marcos, CA

Not worth it for Limited Edition Themed Items.

I bought this warranty for my Animal Crossing Themed Switch with the hopes and thoughts that should something were to happen too it that I'd get a replacement of the same themed switch. I was informed while trying to get my switch sent in for repairs because of the joycons not responding that there was only a 4% chance I'd get an Animal Crossing themed switch back.. And that if my switch would need replacing for any reason they would not inform me first nor give me the option to say No too a replacement if it was not the same themed switch. That I wouldn't just be forced to take what ever they gave me back. So in my opinion, the warranty for limited edition themed items is NOT worth a penny. Just send it too a game repair shop instead like I had to do.

Claims pain in neck

Told me to go back to store to open a new request. Then part still couldnt be fulfilled so they closed the order...endless cycle here. All the while no one is reaching out to me; I'm contacting them in the meantime... I asked for the local store also, Phone agent Mell refused to do that or get me to a supervisor.

Geek Squad didnt send me my controllers

Was advised by in store Geek Squad member to contact customer service online or by phone. Contacted Geek Squad by phone and mailed the controllers in, after 2 weeks contacted customer service again and was told to allow an additional 7-10 business days for delivery. This happened back in November. I eventually bought more controllers since the system was useless withouth them. To this day i have not recieved my replacement controllers.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This did not help me at all, I had an accident with some hearing aids that I will not mention which ones, so I went at first to have them replaced, and oh no, first problem, I lasted approximately 40 minutes waiting for an employee to replace me to which afterwards I talked to his manager explaining the situation and oh surprise, he told me that I had to make an appointment, when previously I had already called and sent messages and they had told me that I did not needed to make an appointment, well, I made the appointment and I went again the following week and they told me that they could not be replaced because they were over damaged, that sounds somewhat incoherent to me, being that the first time I went I took them and showed them, if you were not going to accept the replacement for my hearing aids they would have told me that day and that way I would have avoided wasting my time, my gas and having exposed myself to the situation we are in, well, I had to buy other headphones, because according to those who had suffered the accident they did not enter the insurance, this is so ugh.

Geek Squad Gaming Part Replacement

I spent hours being transferred to multiple departments with no one willing or capable of helping. There is no consistency with the information provided to me. I was asked to schedule an in store appointment with geek squad only to be told that they do not troubleshoot Nintendo switches. A lot of time was wasted and It’s very upsetting to say the least.

2 year warranty was no good after 1 year
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I paid twice for a new 2 year protection plan on a Nintendo switch that failed us about 4 times due to mechanical issues not our fault and got told the 2 year warranty would no longer cover repairs because it was used too many times but the times we used the repairs were due to giving us faulty equipment. I'm irate at this point I have paid over 500$ to be able to use the switch for maybe a couple months out of the year we had it and paid for it in full. Plus the two different warranties.

Insurance

When I used the insurance, the replacement I received for the controllers was refurbished controllers, stained, don't cradle well with the device and we're heavily used controllers. The device I purchased was over 400 dollars its the OLED mario smash brothers and the controllers were of a high quality. It's disheartening to see how I was sent low quality controllers that are heavily used and were refurbished.

Worst Service EVER!!!!!!!

I am suppose to be receiving replacement parts there is no update and when you can talk to someone they ask has it been fulfilled. No why would i be calling well then you get transferred and hung up constantly I will NEVER buy extended service again and best buy is just not worth it anymore ! Awful Service

Magnetic control

Doesn’t feel very beneficial

My product broke 2 months after purchasing and my plan only allows a replacement or store credit. I didn’t pay with store credit so why should I get that back instead of a full refund? It’s unfair because the product that I purchased is no longer in production and my son, who I purchased it for is heartbroken that I cannot exchange it for the exact same item. I literally feel like I wasted my money.
