We have not had to use this plan but according to the salesperson, it will cover anything, even if I throw it across the room. Hope that's true! I have 2 teenagers in the house :)

Fortunately haven't had to use this yet, but the coverage was better than my phone carriers program, and by paying the full 2 years upfront, it was also much cheaper as well.

Love the protection plan at best buy, espically for the phone. Used it once before and I got phone exchanged at the store right away and old one was sent off after screen cracked.

With the cost of a phone today we decided that it was important to have protection. This plan is very comprehensive. It ends up being just under $7 a month which isn't too bad.

I had previously had this protection plan with my old samsung galaxy s3. I did not have any issues with the plan at that point. In fact, I was able to replace my phone once and it was done in store. So the plan at that point was much more efficient and was much better than getting the warranty through my carrier (AT&T). There was no deductibles fee to deal with and it even covered accidents. When I finally able to upgrade to a new phone, I went with the warranty once again with the assumption everything was the same as the previous warranty. No one notified me of the changes even when the person asked if I wanted the warranty. In fact, from my previous experience, I started getting warranties on most of my things that I purchased from best buy. It is also the reason why I stopped buying phones elswhere. With my Samsung Galaxy s6, I started have mechanical problems with it. I had problems staying connected to Bluetooth and WiFi and also it was overheating and rebooting on its own. First I make an appointment the geek squad for a replacement. They said it's through online now so they went ahead to try to do it for me. Everything was going well. They needed my credit card to do a hold since I qualified for express shipping and that once they received my broken phone the money would not be on hold or refunded back to me. He ended up having troubles with the system so he told me to call the 800 number. I later called the 800 number and they said I would have a $150 nonrefundable service fee. I stopped that transaction explaining that the service fee was not something I was informed about. I ended up calling the store explaining my problem to an associate named Edgar. He said he was sorry to hear I was not properly informed and would be able to refund my warranty money back. I told him I had paid for the full two years at once. He explained he is there on week days and is usually there until 5. I went into the store about a week and a half later to see about that refund. Another associate then told me that I would have to call the geek squad service number. After dealing with all this, I ended up being a little more frustrated than I went in. It didn't help when I called the geek squad number about the refund. The CSR on the phone explained that my refund would only be about $20 as opposed to the 159.99 I paid. She said she could not do anything about it. I explained to her my ordeal and that I have not even gotten a replacement on the phone at all while on this warranty this plan, which basically means it wasn't used and a waste of the money I paid. She was not help and I just frantically said just give me that refund because I refused that geek squad get anymore of my money that this warranty I am practically not using and was ill informed of how the new rules worked. From this point on, I will not purchase any phones from best buy. The warranty is basically the same thing as getting it from your cell phone carrier with the amount of deductible you will have to pay and plus they would most likely cover the phone if it gets lost. At the end of the day, I feel like this whole ordeal was a waste of my money and time.

I feel much more comfortable that I have protection on my phone. If something happens to my phone I can get it handled at no extra charge. This is very important to me.

With all high-end purchases from Best Buy, I choose to get Geek Squad protection. Every squad member that I have encountered have been friendly, courteous and informative.

When my pixel 2 died they just took it back and gave me some money to buy a new phone. I upgraded a Pixel 3 and I'm pretty happy.

When the note phone had all the recalls, Best Buy was very helpful because I had Geek Squad. After that ordeal, I bought it again when I got the latest note 8.

This seems like a good option for coverage since accidents happen. I paid the amount in full so I wouldn't have monthly payments and saved a few bucks.
