    I’d gotten this warranty with a brand new tv, and when we hired someone (not from Best Buy) to mount the tv on the wall, he broke it. It was literally two weeks old. The warranty doesn’t cover damages, but when I called Geek Squad to ask whether I could transfer the warranty to the new tv I was going to have to buy, they made an exception for me due to my unfortunate circumstance and told me they’d replace my entire tv. I was so shocked and blown away because I didn’t expect that at all and was fully preparing to buy another tv. The customer service is the best I’ve encountered and it’s absolutely worth it to buy the warranty.

    Geek squad service is worth the plan cost

    Havent used the geek squad warranty but purchased as the coverage is a fair price. If the backlight fails, the replacement cost is mire than the 5 year warranty/service plan.

    Purchased for a client to add protection at the time as I was unaware of the model. I was just a little more piece of mind at the time of purchase. Well, almost 2 years later, the client returns from a long trip to discover the center of the screen was darkened. Forgetting I had the coverage until i looked up the info to find a similar size (vesa mount was an issue), and discovered i had purchased the protection. A few calls later, it was determined that repair wasn't feasible and replacement for a current model of similar price and size would be initiated. The process went smoothly, they delivered the new set and even took down the mounted set, which was another surprise because I was under the impression i was going to have to do that, but they beat me to it. Overall, very happy I added it to the purchase, the client is very happy as well as they were thinking they were going to have to buy another. Smiles all around!

    They back up the products they sell. I've had to put in a claim before and they replaced the item with no issues. Its a no brainer.

    I am loyal to Samsung TVs never had an issue until this tv made a pop noise and went out. The motherboard was out of stock since this size is no longer sold and BB Geek Squad replaced it. I like the Geek Squad but had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment and another week for an ordered part that was cancelled just to replace the unit. I will not be purchasing the warranty on the new unit due to this, as I have additional insurance for all electronics in my home. Do better Geek Squad!

    Always get the warranty. It is worth it in the long run if you constant use the tech, Best buy is some of the best in the business at honoring its warranties.

    I would recommend a Geek squad protection plan for most any product that cannot be easily replaced for over $150 dollars, be it electronics or appliance's. Best Buy's protection plan in my opinion has been one of the best around. We have had several products that have failed and Best Buy, as long as it was covered, has stuck to their promise, if they could fix it, they did. if not, they either replaced it with a brand new product or they gave us the money back for the product and allowed us to purchase a brand new product because they no longer carried that product. It was really a no hassle thing and I could not be happier to recommend it anyone. I am sure there are some stipulations that we have not ran into, but we have had no problems at all in the 5 products we have had issues with in the 12 years or more we have purchased Best Buy protection plans.

    Inexpensive "insurance"

    Purchased for a new Sony TV. Why? My view is the technology has advanced far enough for "fixed location" electronic items, especially TV/Video displays that the manufacturers should include at least 5 year warranty other than accidental damage. They don't. Best Buy through the Geek Squad gives you what manufactures should; extended warranty. Knowing I'm covered for failure of the product and don't have to lug it back to the store is "sleep insurance." Haven't had to use it on the Sony, but a laptop I bought, we south on me under the Geek Squad warranty and the replacement was no hassle. Even got a slightly newer model of the same product (Lenovo) as my model wasn't available. No hassle. I know some have complained about Geek Squad service, but my view is it's a local issue, not one of the program, and I've never had an issue with level of service with my chosen store (I have 3 I can get to in about the same time).

    I have quite a few 5-year warranties I'm so far I will say that they have done me pretty good. My LG C1 had issues they came and fixed it no problem. I also have it for my 65-inch LG C3 and an 48-Inch LG B4. I hope to not have to use it and I hope that if I do have to but I won't have any problems. So as for now it's a four-star rating

    Worth every penny. The Geek Squad folks are great at diagnosing the problem and walking you through fixing it either through online chat or by phone. If you have to take the item in for repair, they offer convenient appointments.
