As long as you're not expecting anything even remotely like 2001 in regards to Stanley Kubrick's style of directing, you'll probably enjoy this follow-up film. Taking place after the original film, we find Roy Scheider's character, Dr. Heywood Floyd, being visited by a ghostlike Dave Bowman from the original film. Dr. Floyd is on a mission to Saturn to find out what happened to Dave. Meanwhile back on Earth, the world is on the bring of nuclear war. Dave then informs Dr. Floyd that "something wonderful" is about to happen. It's a good film though not nearly as cerebral as 2001 or likely to be subject to as much discussion afterwards as to what it means. Oh, and yes, the HAL 9000 is in it as well. Definately worth a look.

2010 is of course a followup to the classic 2001: A Space Odyssey. While the original 2001 had very little dialog, 2010 suffers from having too much, plus narration. It's just too talky, which keeps it from having the sense of wonder of the original film. Nothing could live up to 2001. Even taking that into account, 2010 is a good film, but not a great one - which is why I could only give it 4-stars. Still, it is an enjoyable movie.

More than 15 years since 2001: A Space Odyssey, 2010 tries to answer what happen to spaceman Dave Bowman, his starship and it's AI computer HAL 9000. Another movie from my early adulthood that I found a treasure to watch again.

A good movie to follow up 2001 A Space Oddity. Explains the story a bit more, but not a Kubrick film. Worth watching if you liked 2001,but still not the masterpiece the original was. For $7, well worth it.

Although nothing will come close to the greatness that is 2001: A Space Odyssey, 2010 provides a satisfying continuation of that story. Worth a watch for any fans of the original film.

It pales in comparison to 2001: A Space Odyssey, but it's still an entertaining sequel. Haven't seen it in years, so I had to grab it on Bluray at Black Friday prices!

The blue ray of this classic film is amazing. With crisp picture quality, you can see everything just like it was in the theater- not like the old vhs tape. It’s fantastic.

I love 2001, and this sequel is a pretty good follow-up. Finally some answers to why HAL was acting so strange in 2001.

I had seen 2001 a space odyssey many times but i have not had the chance to watch the sequel 2010. Having read the books these movies are based on both enjoyable and faithful to said books.

This is a good movie on its own outside of 2001. I forgot how much I enjoyed this movie.

One of my favorites from childhood. It's a bit dated now politically speaking, but the message still resonates and is maybe even more relevant today.

The follow up to the original movie, 2001. The cast is good, the story is also good, but it seems to fall short of what it should be.

This is a must see film for any sci fi fans.The blue ray edition looks marvelous.Hal would definitely recommend.
