Customers praise the picture quality and value of this 40" LED HDTV, frequently citing its ease of setup and lightweight design. Positive feedback also highlights the vibrant colors and good size for smaller spaces. However, some customers mention the small size of the remote and that the volume could be louder.

First I thought of buying Samsung. Then my friend recommended me to go for Insignia as its cheap and best, Best Buy In-house brand.
I was double minded for the product, about the sound quality and picture quality. Then i thought I will buy additional speakers for TV if sound is not good enough. Its been more than a month I am using this TV. Sound quality is perfect, i never turn the volume to full as its really loud at 70% only. Picture quality is good. Bought this TV in 175$ only great deal.
Loving the TV.

We bought this TV for my son's 12th birthday. We mounted it on the wall so that both boys could watch from their beds and have it hooked up via wireless service for both DirecTV and through an Amazon Fire Stick. The picture is great and the boys enjoy it a great deal.
The refresh rate could be a bit better; and its missing SmartTV components, but if you have an Amazon Fire Stick, a Roku box, an AppleTV or other content box, you should be fine.
This is a great TV for the money.

Bought this unit specifically because it didn't have smart TV enhancements since the Blu-ray player I have provides a lot of streaming options anyway. Picture is pretty good when viewed head on, but looks washed out when viewed from an angle. All in all, for the price I paid, the TV is a good value. If all you need is a basic, 40 inch, no-frills 1080p TV, I recommend this Insignia model.

I purchased three TV's for a corporate display to use at business expos. I purchased one 55 inch and two 40 inch models. The 55 inch and one of the 40 inch models worked perfectly. The other 40 inch made a high pitch squeal. It would not be noticeable if it were not for the fact that the display does not have any audio. I returned the defective 40 inch and exchanged it for another. I took it to the office and had the exact same noise. Repeat and finally on the third try all is good.

This was my first foray into LED screens. I will admit that I'm pretty spoiled by the Plasma screen I have in the living room. But I was looking to add a monitor in the kids' library/playroom, I chose this Insignia model. Set up was straightforward. Performance is solid. Channel setup was a breeze. Like the two-legged stand for stability. Color dynamics give my plasma a run for its money. There's a lot of value in this TV at this price.
