This 48" Insignia is a great value (especially under $300) for its size and quality. It's a good all-purpose TV, which is what we use it for -- regular cable TV viewing. We do NOT use external speakers or a soundbar with this TV, and the audio is just fine for what we watch. The built-in speakers on this TV are good -- dialogue is crisp and NOT tinny like on some other TVs in this price range. Rear-directed speaker ports help reflect some bass when the TV is wall-mounted. That said, we do have a complete home theater system to use to watch DVD movies. For a home theater movie experience, you obviously would not rely on the built-in speakers. But 99% of the time, we're not watching movies, and we don't have to rely on external speakers or a soundbar to watch the news, sitcoms, weather report, etc. We didn't need any "smart TV" features or higher refresh rates you might find on more expensive TVs. We really just wanted a clean picture with clean built-in audio, and this TV delivers.

I checked on several models, reviews, and how many connections HDMI's, USB ports, etc.. I did not need a smart tv since I have a fire stick and already streamline. I checked the online stores for the best deals and Best Buy beat them all even with paying taxes. I can now read the print scrolling by on this tv screen and the picture is excellent, even my 8 security camera look great.The tv is very light to lift and easy to install on the wall. The tv's built in audio is excellent, but I have a stereo system so I still went external.

This isn't a smart tv, but I didn't need one. It works great and does what I need it to do which is watch tv. I have Comcast so I had no need for a smart tv. We have this as our main tv in our family room, it's just the right size.

We stayed in a motel that used this TV in every room! It was bright . It was Clear. But most of all, my wife liked it . She watches it more than I do. The sound was good, and I didn't have to turn the volume up high to here it.

I have viewed a lot of TV's in this size class and, for the money, this is hands down the best out there. Not a smart TV, but for less than half the price of the smart TV upgrade, you can get a stick (Amazon/Google/Roku) and have the same experience.

This tv has worked great since I got it. Most flatscreens don’t have the best sound but this one has pretty good sound. It is plenty loud. I can hear it and I live beside railroad tracks with trains going by.

This is one of the best tv’s I’ve ever purchased. I have had this tv for a little over a year and I would definitely purchase another with this brand. The price was amazing! Picture quality on point!

Was looking for a cheap tv for my home office. This one supports multiple HDMI connections, the sound is decent, the picture is great and it scales the image when my pc is connect and the desktop is extended which avoids the odd black spaces on the edges.

The TV is very nice, and works really well. It came with a Roku, which is pretty convenient, since we don't use Cable or Satellite anymore - we can watch Netflix, Hulu or Amazon videos with it for free. Recommended!

Purchased for nephew to have TV access in his bedroom. He is happy using the Roku to feed the signal to this TV since cable signal was poor in that area of the house. He can also use it for video games in his room, so made him a happy camper!

Great picture, nice features, could maybe use 1 more input, but not a big deal, good sound after adjusting controls. I like the ability to set screen settings based on input selected. I use it mostly for gaming and sports viewing, looks good on both.

I don't purchase anything without fully vetting whatever it is via multiple reviews and the reviews on this TV were spot on. This is great value for dollar. The picture is awesome, the sound (from the TV speakers not an amp or sound bar) is very good, and...well the price is unbelievable. We have an older Insignia TV that has outlasted the big name TVs which also made me comfortable with the brand.

We finally got rid of our BIG sized television. Kept putting off since it still worked, but our new tv is so much sharper and actually a bigger screen. Got during black Friday week, so was able to get on Tuesday. Thanks Best Buy for the early sales.

Got this on sale and have had it for a few years now. Awesome budget tv and have had zero issues. Sound and picture are great.

Just need a large TV for Wii game. This is a very good product with VERY LOW PRICE! One star off is because there is no on/off power button on the TV. The only button on the TV is for channel switch. So make sure don't lose your remote control!!

Purchased this TV online. I am very pleased with the overall picture. The only thing I did not like was the very small remote control. It is so small it can be easily lost. Other than that I am pleased.

Easy to setup, great HD picture and sound. Cannot beat the value. Solid performer and so far no complaints or issues.

This tv is a simple basic unit in today's market. If you're looking for a smart tv, this would not be the one. It does perform very well, both picture quality and sound quality, on our HD cable service

Bought this as an "open box" for the daughter for Christmas. So far, so good. Haven't heard any complaints as this is her first "REAL" tv. It looks nice and is perfect size for her apartment. As always, we bought the extended warranty.

Got the television right after black friday for an incredible price. I wasn't expecting to much when it comes to the picture quality but I was pleasantly surprised. Picture looks good, sound is strong .... Very good tv for the bedroom.
