I really like this tv. Just really need to add a sound bar as the speakers are on the back of the tv. Good picture and a good size for my space.

We were looking for a smaller TV, but Best Buy was having a good sale. We are really happy we bought the larger TV.

TV was purchased because it was the most economical for it size. Easy to set up including programing the cable remote to the new TV. TV stand are feet located at both ends of TV and requires about 45" of surface. It would be better if on a pedestal which would require less surface top space and allow you to pivot for better viewing angles when needed. The TV works however it is nothing special or worthy of singling out other than low cost.

Easy setup and install. I opted for the set w/o Roku; unless you need things more compact you can buy a decent Bluray w/ Roku for $59.00 - $69.00. I also bought the Insignia soundbar which makes a world of difference with the audio. I recommend this television for anyone looking to replace older TVs at a great price.

This review represents about a month of use. We needed a TV for our summer home. I considered taking our bedroom TV and replacing it with a better unit but ultimately decided that 32" was not big enough for a large room. When I saw this unit on sale I decided to go to a local best buy and check it out and compared it to a smaller TV and several others of approximately the same size. I ordered the Insignia and had it shipped to our summer home with a delivery date two days after our scheduled arrival. We arrived on Saturday, the TV was delivered on Monday. The feet had to be installed on the TV and I was able to do that without much difficulty and with no help from anyone else. There is also a set of bolts for wall mounting which I did not test. I mounted the TV on a home built home entertainment cabinet that is about 4 feet high, almost 5 feet wide and 16 inches deep. I had very little trouble lifting it by myself and putting it on the cabinet. The sound is typical TV sound. However there are two or three options to improve. First there is a mini phono plug input. I plugged a spare set of computer speakers into it. When you do this you have the option of using the TV (or set top box) remote to control the sound or control the sound by the device you plugged in. Since my spare set of speakers had no remote I let the TV remote control the sound. There is also a toslink (optical digital) sound output available. I did not test this. There is also a set of three RCA plugs which may be for component video or perhaps composite video and two channel audio I did not test this either. The picture is OK. My home TV is a 60" Panasonic Viera plasma TC-P60ST60 (the bottom of the line 3D tv and last year they made plasmas). In comparison the Insignia's picture is very slightly washed out and the viewing angle is more restricted (but fine for a reasonable angle). The picture on the Insignia is clearly inferior to the Panasonic but I am not dissatisfied with the picture particularly for a $300 TV. There are several inputs for the TV: Coax Cable: untested Component video: untested Three HDMI: all tested. You can custom label each of them with the remote so mine no longer say HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3. Instead they say: Blu-Ray, Roku, Cable Box. I have tested them all and they seem to work satisfactorily. There is also a USB connector which is labeled USB (photos). I have not tested this yet. The TV is NOT smart but my Roku gives me smart functionality. BOTTOM LINE: I am satisfied with this TV. The other TVs I saw at Bestbuy in this size range that were superior in picture were also substantially more expensive. If I had the opportunity to make a different choice of TV I wouldn't. The rating of 3 stars above is a rating for all TVs. A star rating based on comparable items in price would probably be 4.5 stars.

I has been looking for a TV for my bedroom to replace the 32" Vizio I had. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted. I came across this Insignia TV in one of the weekly ads. Reviews sounded great, and cross referencing through various places, deemed this a decent TV to purchase for bedroom duty. I managed to catch this on sale for about $250, which, in my opinion, is a steal. After hanging it in the bedroom and getting the Roku running, I was blown away considering the price. Picture quality is almost as good as my 2011 Samsung 3D set. I really didn't do too much calibration on the colors as of yet, but it looks decent out of the box. I haven't noticed an issue with graininess or ghosting when playing games (Xbox One). While the picture is great given the price point, there are of course some downfalls with a unit this cheap. Speakers are horrible. Without a doubt, get a soundbar. I have a Vizio 2.1 hanging below it, but did test the speakers just to see what they sounded like. I do wish the backlighting would go a little lower, can be a little bright for a bedroom. The final issue seems to be with audio passthrough. It will take a couple tries before it would pass the sound through the optical out, but once working, I haven't run into any other issues.
