While I rank this item highly, it’s not without fault as the original item was damaged upon receipt. Not that you could completely tell it was damaged until you tried to plug it in. I’m leaving this in the review because I’d hate for anyone else to receive one that the phono plug was pushed too far into the plastic. And if you buy this, check it out before you leave the store or before your return time is up. That being said, on with the review. This is a great addition to your cb setup especially if you have a Wrangler or are a Jeep enthusiast. Obviously this could be used to plug into anything with a headphone jack as well but it’s obvious intention is to bypass that cruddy speaker in a cb radio and direct the chatter directly towards your ears. And it sounds SO much better. Installation is pretty easy, just a headphone jack, and mounting is nice since the speaker has an easy to mount bracket that allows you to place the embossed grill speaker anywhere you don’t mind drilling holes. Took me about a week and a half longer to get a useful one but it was time well spent since Best Buy at time of purchase was over $10 cheaper than Amazon and even more from the Dodge dealership. What really sold me on this item was aforementioned embossed metal grill over the speaker. This is a nice addition that makes a blasé cb radio with which my wife is not very happy with a little more palatable as she feels these things are for lot lizards and truck driver rapists. I’m more of a prepper, or at least trying to be for when Russia or China invades The USA. I feel that once that happens, cell phones will be disabled and the only communication further than yelling will be CB or HAM. So both are going into the bug out vehicle. I’m just kidding- I need one of these for off-road trails and monitoring for vehicle rescues that and to talk to truck drivers on the highway. That’s all- but I’d like to give you more than just a boring review of a little speaker. It’s great and I’d definitely buy one again if need dictated it.

This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my son. He was really pleased with the sound quality and the Jeep brand for his Jeep.

Works great and is loud enough to hear over the wind noise with the top off no problem.
