    I have not used this yet. I bought the Nintendo 3ds xl for my daughter for Christmas. The sales associate that was helping me told me that I would need this too. I don't know much about video games and greatly appreciated his help.

    I had to buy this separate from the New Nintendo 3ds XL because apparently Nintendo doesn't sell them together. Why? I don't know. It charges the New Nintendo 3ds XL, so my nieces are happy. It's not flimsy like I had expected.

    My son lost the charging cable to his 3DS XL, so I was forced to go out and buy a new one. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost of a new cable as I thought it would be more expensive. It works.

    I was told that the Nintendo 3ds's do not come with a power cord. I picked up a new nintendo 2ds and it came in the package with the unit so this one was not needed. Great addition if you need one though.

    Sucks that you are forced to buy an AC adapter, it should be included. For what is worth, the workmanship is solid as you would expect from Nintendo. Recommended if you do not have one.
