Chrome computers are great for web surfing and video streaming. Don't worry about the small RAM and solid hard drive, because you can do almost everything from Drive and Docs in "the cloud". You can also use USB thumb drives for extra file storage. No DVD and you have to use Google Cloud Print with a wifi printer that does not give you much printing control. I have two Chromebooks, so I'm familiar with the system. It's fast, simple and easy to use. No long Windows boot up or long updates. No Need for anti-virus to slow you down. Love the big screen and simple keyboard.

Bought a couple for office. Really needs 8mb ram to be an office computer. Looks great and runs ok. Probably better for kids room or basic personal computer.

Bought this after my spouse's Win10 PC croaked after a monthly update. As an idiot proof device you can not beat a Chromebase. This is a very good PC substitute.

I've used a handful of Chrome Books in my business, but really like the Chrome Base, since it's an all in one with a large monitor.

I don't use it as often as I would like to but it runs fast and smooth. Turns on and is ready in seconds and turns off super fast.

    Great Chrome for Internet Surfing

The Chromebase is an amazing desktop. It sets up in seconds and links to your Gmail. The device powers on in about 4 seconds and you can search the internet in under 10 seconds. If you heavily use Google products, such as google docs or google drive, this device is amazing. I was able to navigate many folders into my Google Drive in seconds, where my iMac would be loading the "Home" folder. Again, the Chromebase is super fast. If I had to describe it, I honestly felt like my cloud was immediately at my fingertips. I have NEVER experienced such as fast device. This device is a very sturdy internet surfer and is capable of doing light work. I could see this device being good for parents and kids since it has very few options in programs and google is pretty reliable. However, there are some severe limitations. First, the Chrome cannot connect to scanners and could only print through Google Cloud Print. Second, the Chrome "Desktop" is the download folder. Meaning everything must be kept in the google drive or be opened in the browser. Third, Chrome OS is different from Mac OS and Windows OS. So, be conscientious if you want to use the Chromebase as a PC/Mac substitute. Fourth, the accompanying keyboard is weirdly spaced and has a poorly placed "search" key where the "enter" key usually is. I personally love the concept of the Chromebase, but the limitations forced me to return the device days after purchase. I really needed something that is compatible with a few programs and can have USB devices connected to it.
