Don't expect to build a new internet on it, but it's great for web browsing, streaming media, and light word processing.

Would have preferred Windows...can't add her to our MS Office or Norton software. But bottom line, she's happy with it.

It's very light and feels solid so as he's catching up on "deadliest animals" on the internet while walking through the house, I don't scold him quite as urgently. He's also confident to use it for homework. My preteen daughter has a school issued macbook (11") but customization options are limited with restrictions. They still want to make these their own. She works on both for homework but they both would rather watch streaming video on the Acer 14. Impressive screen for this price point. Very pleased with this purchase and just bought my daughter one for Christmas.

It then said it had to do an update and the screen went black never to come back up again. I'm returning mine to Best Buy this weekend for a refund and more than likely won't end up looking at the Acer products after this.
