Customers commend the Chromebook Spin 713's impressive screen, long battery life, and lightweight design, finding it easy to use. However, some users reported issues with the speakers, noting subpar sound quality and occasional noise. A few also mentioned concerns about fan noise and the trackpad's performance. While some found the price high, others felt it was justified by the device's features.

I tried and compared a lot of chromebooks out there and nothing beats this one. To be honest there is no perfect chromebook available right now, but this one had the least compromises in my opinion. Everyone complained about the speakers but I found it comparable to HP and Lenovo chromebooks in the same price range. Webcam is pretty bad, but it was the same in other chromebooks. The screen in this one is gorgeous. Really bright and colorful. The i5 processor and 256gb storage will make this future proof. I am enjoying the responsiveness of chrome os so far. Android apps are also running really well in this.

This is a wonderful laptop for school. It has been resilient and always responds fast, allowing me to be very productive. I can easily write technical papers and quickly pull up information without losing my train of thought. It performs best on web-based applications which I primarily use. However, it is difficult to get access to some programs compatible with chrome OS. For example programs such as Solidworks and AutoCAD do not have downloadable versions for Chrome OS. The display is neat, clear, and well proportioned. The touchscreen has good response and is not too sensitive. The battery lasts me about 9 hours on average. One thing I notice is that quite often (several times a day) that the fan powers up really loud for a couple seconds then winds down, this is even when I am not running anything intense and happens almost at random.

Bought open box: battery life was a littly funky, it was joined to a corporate network (that was hard to fix!), and the hinge is a little loose.
But you know what? It's still a beast of a chromebook and very pleasant to use. Touch screen is great for when the kids want to do their school apps too!

A good chromebook, powerful enough to do the basics. I like the 2 in 1 set up and the clear screen. plus it makes it easy in darker areas with a back lit keyboard. only real problems i have with it is the speakers are a lower quality. If you want to have good sound make sure you use headphones or a BT speaker. The only other thing i had a problem was the speakers again would crackle when using them. I had to look this to find if a fix was out or i was going to return it. It is a software problem and they had a fix that worked for me. Just need to do a power wash and rest the whole system after that no more problems. This info was giving from Acer forum page.

I have been a long-time user of Chromebooks since they became commercially available starting with the Acer AC series. I've used/owned 4 others since then with the last one being the Lenovo Duet. So far this is the best one so far albeit it is the most expensive.
The display and 3:2 aspect ratio is what I like the most along with a great accurate touchpad.
I initially was not even interested in this unit as the spec shows it is over the top of what I need but with the sale, it was just too good to pass up and I'm glad and very happy with it. For $499 it is a great value.
It is a very solid feeling laptop and the backlit keyboard is a must for me. The keys have a bit more travel than I would like but I will get used to it.
Minus a star for fan coming on when only a single tab is open. It seems to happen more while in Guest mode. I found that if you open 2-3 tabs it does not happen. There is some crackling on the speaker on lower volume setting but seems like it is content-dependent as some videos/song does not have this problem.
Overall I'm very satisfied and highly recommend it specially if you can get it on sale.

This is very much like last year's 10th gen Intel processor model, but EVEN FASTER. The screen is gorgeous and bright. I think the keyboard is just a bit better. The trackpad and port selections remain great. This is a serious work machine. Battery gets me through a work day, no problem. The sound seems to be slightly better than last year's model. This thing is a real speedster, though. Well worth it.

acer spin 713 evo - have had for almost 2 weeks, first Chromebook, still getting used to it. so far it's pretty great - fast, good battery life, great screen, Bluetooth link for music from amazon music app to bluesound node works well, links well to new pixel 6, so get notifications, and can get and reply to texts on the acer. did a usb linked music file transfer from acer to pixel with no problem.
a few things either can't do or can't figure out how to do: can't get sound for notifications (have to just "notice" the notification); can't adjust the time before screen goes to sleep; can't personalize screen, e.g., can't put widgets or shortcut links on the screen - seems limited to apps on tool bar. but maybe i just haven't figured out these things.
bottom line is this is a great laptop, and a very good value for the approx $550 i paid for it. would give it 4.5 ✨. very glad didn't get windows evo laptop i also was considering given what I've been reading about windows 11. if you're looking for a Chromebook, you won't regret this acer spin 713 EVO. did i mention 2 thunderbolt 4 ports!?

I watched the chrome unbox youtube channel whom highly recommended this chromebook.
Our first chromebook. Bought it when on sale for my 5 years old kid for online kindergarten.
Amazing, fast, and seemless device with great compatibilty with Android apps.
The 1st day after recieving my kid slipped it onto the floor and it developed minor scratches and worked just fine.
Screen colors, response, and brightness are very good.
Battery Life 7-8 hours.>Average for a chromebook
The only down side with it are the speakers.
I would not say they are bad, but the sound is muffled for thier direction downwards and the sound does not go too high I do not know if that was an intended 'feature'.
Some models have a fingerprint scanner however this hasn't, yet works as expected and more.
I believe the chipset is more than capable for everyday task and can handle with about any android app for the kids.
Some Android apps are not well configured for the screen.
Zoom app (Online) works just fine and our youngster is happy with his chromebook.

lovely laptop . this is my first chrome laptop and i have migrated from windows ( LG GRAM)
I had purchases the Asus 11th gen one from BB as this was not available then . and i had to carry it out to my homeland in India .
The day before my flight this showed available . I immediately ordered this and paid extra for expedited delivery ( around 28 bucks) . But BB were kind enough to reverse the shipping fee . I also returned the ASUS one though even that was good but very very heavy .... this is also not feather light like my LG Windows laptop , but this is manageable
And I had apprehensions about the 3:2 screen , but with time , I am actually starting to like and prefer this over the regular 16:9 (16:10) for most of my online and web work (except maybe binge watching) ,,,
If this stays butter smooth atleast for next 3 years ( i plan to keep this 3 years before upgrading ) and the hardware inside this doesnt die , I will fell my money's worth !!
the only CON - I feel very high price and no finger print sensor ( and though it dont bother me , - NO STYLUS/PEN support)

Wow this was an amazing machine. I loved everything about it. Fast, excellent display, keyboard was so nice to type on, Thunderbolt 4 support. The 2-in-1 design was done well. The speakers left a lot to be desired. But nothing compared to the Pixelbook Go in the speaker department. Unfortunately, I had to return this. Based on my experiences and many others online, I found that the WIFI 6 implementation in this device has some incompatibilities with my Netgear Orbi mesh network. Constant speed fluctuations and complete signal drops for up to 10 seconds at a time were enough for me to have to return the laptop. But as far as a Chromebook goes, this thing is top tier. Both in specs and performance, it rules for now.

Amazing for productivity. The 3/2 aspect ratio is perfect for working. The screen is very bright and detailed. Colors pop. The overall system speed is fantastic. Trackpad is large for a chromebook this size. It's very smooth and responsive. I connected it to my usb-c thunderbolt dock(dual monitors, wireless mouse/keyboard, speakers, webcam. It worked perfectly. The ONLY thing this beast doesn't have is a fingerprint scanner. I thought that would be a problem, but I have it connected to my Pixel 5a and it unlocks the chromebook for me. It charges SOOOO fast with the included charger(65w). I've tested with a 18w usb-c charger and it works fine too, but just charges slower(but perfectly acceptable). Battery life is ok, not great. I get maybe 7 to 9 hours between charges. This is expected since it has an i5 processor.

super fast!, great high resolution screen
TERRIBLE speakers
thick bezel like 2015 status
overall not aesthetically pleasing compared to other mid range devices
3;2 ratio good for docs, spreadsheet, browsing
bad for media cuts like half the screen off lol so whats the point of having high pixel 400 nit 2k screen if half gets cut off , to read your white documents w no dark mode lmfao, should be a hybrid where you can toggle ratio on the fly with a universal screen size etc. Then best of both worlds. Verdict still out

This machine is a beast! It's super fast and handle everything I've thrown at it. The display is gorgeous, the keyboard feels nice, and it has all the ports I need to plug in external monitors and accessories. My only complaint is the sound. The speakers are not the loudest. Also, I get a crackling sound out of one of the speakers every now and then. I exchanged the first one I purchased and this new one does the same thing. I That's why I'm not giving it a perfect score. I hope they're able to fix this with software. I'm living with it for now.

Really happy with this purchase! My old chromebook was way too old and had problems running with just a few open tabs, it was constantly rebooting on its own at random. Decided to get the fastest processor around and this one did the trick! I can have 20 or 30 tabs open at once and the CPU is only running about 8% most of the time. Screen is great, back lit keyboard is excellent. The one thing I might say could be better is the speaker placement, they face downward so sound is kind of muffled if it is sitting on your lap, but place a book under it and that helps alot.

My original Acer Chromebook had a stress crack in the case when I got it out of the box... :( Best buy was great about swapping it out for one that was not broken. I am loving the tablet feature and the screen. I am using it to edit photos so the upgraded larger screen is great! Also had a 5 hour flight and it powered through on full brightness watching movies on Netflix with barely a dent in the battery. If this thing maintains battery life and stays together it will be well worth the money.
