We reviewed several computers to replace in our office. Of major importance to us was fast start up, processing speed and a reliable brand using quality components. Acer fit the need. Rey nice machine

I'm a junior software developer and game moderately.
The GOOD: The 6 core i5 powers through everything I have thrown at it. I run multiple development programs and have literally zero lag. You don't need anything over an i5 if you're just going to game. The 6GB 1060 gets 50-60 fps on new games at 1080p with high or ultra settings, depending on the game (probably not shadow of the tomb raider). PLEASE don't waste your money on the 16 series graphics cards. If you don't know what that means, ask your nerdiest buddy or watch LinusTechTips or JayzTwoCents or something. The SSD boots up extremely fast, even before you get rid of all the bloatware. It has great WiFi so you don't have to run an Ethernet cable (remember I said I game moderately). The 12GB of ram is "pretty good". I haven't needed more yet (even with many Chrome tabs), but I would have liked 16GB for a small price increase. The non-sale price is phenomenal, you wont save a whole lot of money if you build this rig yourself, so you might as well get this one and have all of your warranties centrally located instead of getting parts from 3-5 different vendors. There are much more powerful gaming machines, but this is perfect for students and casual gamers.
The BAD: The SSD is way too small, if you buy this computer and play literally more than two games, also at least buy an external 1TB HDD for $50, or an internal one. The included stock keyboard and mouse suck, cheap Logitech ones are worth buying. You won't be gaming at 4k, but you probably knew that.
UNSURE: Haven't tried anything with VR. There is a red light on the front, but no other RGB. I'm not big on RGB so I put it here. Idk how this machine would handle graphic design things like professional level Adobe applications. I've only owned this PC for about a month, so I can't speak to the longevity of it, but just get an extended warranty if you have any concerns. If you don't like Acer, I would still suggest finding a rig with similar specs and price if you're just gaming casually.
If you're a parent buying for your kid, yes this will play Fortnite at highest settings, and yes it will handle any schoolwork your kid may have.
