Trade-offs are worth the value and portability

This laptop has some drawbacks related to battery life and performance due to being a smaller size. I believe the trade offs are 100% worth the display and size/weight!

I'm a game developer and this laptop is incredible. The Intel Core Ultra 9 and the RTX 5070 Ti handle everything easily. I'm getting 150 FPS in Minecraft with Extreme Shaders! The 240Hz OLED screen is the best part; the colors and deep blacks are stunning. Highly recommended for anyone looking for top-tier performance in 2026.

I’m amazed at the performance and how thin the laptop and is easy to carry around.Coupled with the beautiful oled display it makes it amazing to look at. The 12 gigs of vram is what really makes this laptop worth it I highly recommend.

Acer-Predator For Deep Learning or AI work purpose

The intention of my buy is for the Deep Learning/AI model training purpose. The inbuilt GPUs are good enough to train the good amount of data and the large parameters model. The gaming graphics made the ROS and Gazebo simulation for robotics more interesting with clear clarity in screen resolution. The only disadvantage is the weight of the charger, which is quite annoying to carry, and the heat of the lapttop is too much than expected.

Absolutely incredible performance and value for the price. zero regrets. I wanted something under $2k that had top of the line specs including the top of the line graphics card and processor and most recent RAM. got it all. AND an OLED screen? love it. gaming has always been a passion of mine, but never actually purchased a dedicated gaming computer. this blows away my expectations. I DO RECOMMEND you purchase a laptop cooling frame that has built in fans to help keep it cool and maximize performance. i bought a $50 one that tilts and it’s a must for maintaining peak performance.

Absolutely top of line. I've never owned a nicer laptop. I mean, this laptop puts some people's custom PC builds to shame. It's an absolute powerhouse. And it's pretty light and compact. It's really easy to travel with and it comes with this awesome case to put it in. Absolutely worth every dollar. And the price at my local Best Buy was actually really affordable. Also, my cat really loved to sit in the packaging.

Great Performance but Be Aware of Potential Issues

I recently picked up this laptop and honestly it felt like a great deal for the price. It’s fast, handles games on high settings like a champ, and the RTX 5070 Ti is an absolute beast. I’ve had an overall great experience with performance whether it’s gaming or multitasking this thing handles it smoothly. That said, there are a few drawbacks worth mentioning. The build quality could be better. The chassis is plastic and feels like it wouldn’t survive even a small drop without cracking. I get it though, at this price point some compromises are expected. The biggest issue for me has been the touchpad and keyboard. The touchpad glitches out constantly. It becomes inaccurate or unresponsive to the point where it's almost unusable. It’s frustrating because everything else about the machine works so well. I didn’t get the warranty, big mistake on my part, so I’ll have to take it to a local shop and see if they can fix it. Battery life could also be better. You’re most likely going to get around an hour and a half to two hours unplugged with just light usage. If you’re gaming, expect maybe 45 minutes to an hour tops, and performance is greatly reduced while running on battery power. So would I recommend this laptop? Yes and no, It’s powerful, fast, and a solid choice for gaming. But be aware you might run into some hardware quirks. I’m not sure if my touchpad problem is a one-off or a common issue, but it’s worth keeping in mind. And definitely don’t skip the warranty.

This laptop takes everyrhing I throw at it. Ive played almost all my games on ultra and its not skipping a beat. Only complaints I could have are the fans are pretty loud and the speakers sound like a tin can but other than that I love this thing.

Cheaper and more powerful than Zephyrus G16

Very pleased with this "thin and light" version of the Neo 16. It's about 19mm thick (0.75"). About the same as a Macbook Pro or a Zephyrus G16, although it does have an extra 1" sticking out the back behind the hinge. GPU performance is comparable to the Zephyrus, but CPU performance in the Neo 16S is about 50% higher, due to the 275HX CPU. Screen is beautiful, keyboard is a pleasure to type on, with no discernable flex under normal typing. Build quality is excellent. The case does attract fingerprints. The laptop has a 240Hz display, confirmed in Windows, even though both the inner box and the outer carton says 165Hz display. Note that the GPU and CPU are slightly power limited by Acer due to the cooling limitations imposed by the slim chassis. So this laptop will be about 10% slower than, say, a Strix or other full-sized laptop. But that's the same tradeoff you'd make with a Zephyrus. All tests were done in Turbo mode. Click on the links ahd hit Details to see average CPU and GPU temps, etc. 3dMark doesn't display the complete temp graphs from the runs online, but I have them if anyone has questions or wants me to post a graph from a particular test. Temperatures never got out of hand. CPU usually hovered around 100C during the most intense parts of the benchmarks and sometimes hit 103C, but that was rare. Intel allows the CPU to get as hot as 105C before it throttles. It hovers around 60C at idle. So that does eat into battery life. But battery life is comparable to other similarly powered laptops (with same CPU and GPU). I got this for my son at college who is a computer science major. His 2 in one laptop screen cracked so this is all he has right now to use in class. He likes it a lot. I told him we can get him another 2-in-1 but he said this is working fine for now. I was worried it would be too heavy for him to carry but he is fine carrying it in his school backpack bag.

The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S is a beast!

This laptop has exceeded my expectations. It’s surprisingly thin for a gaming machine, yet still offers plenty of USB ports and overall connectivity. Temperatures are solid for the hardware: it idles around 45–55°C, and during gaming on max settings it typically stays between 77–81°C, with brief spikes up to 100°C. While it runs on the hotter side, performance hasn’t been affected, and these levels are still within safe operating limits according to Intel and NVIDIA. All temperatures were tracked using MSI Afterburner, rather than relying only on the pre-installed software. I also use a dual-fan cooling pad, which I highly recommend for any gaming laptop—it helps keep temps more stable during extended sessions. Overall, the Predator Helios Neo 16S offers great performance in a slim design, and it performs better than I expected. This would receive a 5 star but the software is a bit buggy at times, mostly at startup or waking from hibernation.

The laptop is fabulous for those of us looking for the most power to our buck. Plays modern games flawlessly and the oled is beautiful. Please know- The laptop needs to be plugged in to perform in gaming. I personally expect this but see people complain. Battery lasts a few hours doing regular tasks, but of course youll have to have wall power if you want wall power level performance. Speakers arent great. Dont sound bad, i wear headphones sometimes anyway, but they arent gonna win any sound awards, for sure. Again, doesnt bother me, but just dont go into it expecting 3D dolby surround (haha) But mostly besides these small caveats, you cant find a better computer for a better price right now. Definitely dont regret at all.

This Machine is a beast! Been doing hours of photo and video editing and high end gaming. I run Davinci Resolve on this with 4k footage no problem, just make sure you're cables are up to snuff. I was getting choppy footage from my Samsung T5 then realized i needed an upgraded usb cable, now it's super fast, no latency! Playing Silent Hill f on max settings, woot! Bought a cooling pad for it, but it's built in cooling system is pretty good! I don't recommend doing prolonging demanding tasks without a pass though. Was worried about the build quality, but as long as you are mindful and aware, keep it in a laptop bag, your shouldn't have any issues. Overall, a great purchase! This is now my out of town powerhouse for my video projects and gaming!

I recently purchased the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI with the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, RTX 5070Ti GPU, 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD, and I’m extremely impressed with the performance. The OLED 240Hz display is stunning — colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, and the refresh rate makes everything incredibly smooth whether you’re gaming or working. Performance is where this laptop truly shines. The RTX 5070Ti and 32GB RAM handle heavy workloads easily. I run local AI models, development environments, and GPU-intensive applications, and the system handles them without any lag. It’s also excellent for gaming and content creation. The build quality feels premium, the cooling system does a great job under heavy load, and the keyboard is comfortable for long coding or gaming sessions. Pros: Extremely powerful CPU + RTX 5070Ti Beautiful OLED 240Hz display 32GB RAM great for multitasking and AI workloads Fast SSD and smooth performance Solid build quality Cons: Battery life could be better under heavy GPU usage (expected for this level of performance) Overall, this is an excellent high-performance laptop for developers, gamers, and AI enthusiasts.

I was quite surprised by how good this laptop was. I usually think of bidget materials when it comes to acer laptops, but this one feels very premium. Im honestly amazes at the build quality. The laptoo is a bit wider than normal laptops so i doesnt fit in my bag but thats fine. The cooling is very good to. But to be safe i still got a laptop cooler. The laptoo being at 240hz always isnt a big deal for me, but thats something to keep in mind. It has a lot of ports and i appreciate the SD card slot being there still. The only thing that stopped this from being perfect is the software. I just wish they had something like armory crate and g helper. I would love to set wattage limits on the cpu and gpu and have custom profiles. The software for gaming mods is very barebones and you cant set your own fan curves. But these are not deal breakers. I was gonna purchase a laptop cooler regardless. For it being $1899 this is almost reasonably priced. Everything else is 600$ more. If this ever goes on sale for 1599 or 1699 get it. The software wont be perfect, but the build quality and hardware is incredible. 4.5 stars.

picked up the Neo 16S AI (the 5070 Ti config) a few weeks ago and it has honestly blown my expectations out of the water. I was a bit worried about the "slim" chassis thermal throttling, but Acer really nailed the cooling here. I’m getting consistent 140+ FPS in Warzone at 1600p on High settings, and with DLSS 4.5 turned on, it’s just buttery smooth. The OLED screen is the real star of the show—the colors are incredibly deep and it makes every other monitor I own look dull. I also love the "AI" integration; the PurifiedVoice 2.0 actually works to block out my dog barking while I’m on Discord, which my friends definitely appreciate. My only real heads-up for people is that when you hit that Turbo button, the fans sound like a literal jet taking off. It keeps the 5070 Ti nice and cool, but you 100% need noise-canceling headphones. If you want a laptop that feels premium and handles AAA games without breaking a sweat, this is the one. Easily a 9/10 for me!
