Screen came apart after two weeks

Bought this for my daughter for her remote learning at school. After a couple weeks the lower left hand corner of the screen came apart at the seams. This particular model folds from a laptop all the way into a tablet and that is when the problem occurred. It would have been better if it was just left in laptop form. Computer runs fine but the fact that the screen fell apart after 2 weeks is a testament to the quality of this Chromebook.

Handy little laptop, great for anyone

Got this for a great price, worth every penny. Using the Chrome browser/Chromebook system versus Windows is SO much better. Our Windows laptops keep on bugging us to update, update, update practically every.single.day and were full of bloatware that I had to painstakingly uninstall one by one, ugh! But the updates cannot be avoided, and many of them take FOREVER to install. No more! The Chromebooks are easy to use, fast, and any updates automatically install quickly with hardly any wait time, with NO constant notifications in our faces. A big plus is that our kids’ schools assign Chromebooks to their students, so our kids are already used to them and know how to use Google Docs, Gmail, etc. All of their online homework assignments and projects are done using Google software/apps. As for this particular Chromebook, it has a fabulously clear screen with good graphics. The touchscreen works really well. I like that it can be used in tablet mode, with the screen viewable at multiple angles and in multiple ways. You won’t need a mouse to use it, either, because the combination of the touchscreen and the touchpad is more than enough. Battery life is awesome. It is lightweight and compact, very portable. I am seriously thinking of buying a second one (at the sale price), it’s that good.

I got this for my elderly mom who is... Well... Technology challenged to say the least. She has always used WIndows machines so I feared taking her off of that platform as the learning (TEACHING) curve could be HUGE. She finally forced my hand after somehow bricking 3 Windows devices in a year. I decided to go with Chromebook as it is an inherently "safer" eco-system and somewhat familiar to Windows users, especially those of limited technical capacity. So far, so good. I gave it 4 stars just based on it's somewhat limited horsepower. Please do not take that as a negative necessarily, but if you don't need a large horsepower machine, this is a great choice. My mom does e-mail, lite web-surfing and uses a solitaire and poker app. That's it. Perfect for her. Additionally, this unit is small, lightweight and versatile in how it can be used so another great choice for those who may not have all of the physical skills they had in their "fighting days".

5 stars for what it is, based on price and hardware. I bought this to assist with schoolwork for an elementary schooler now that we're stuck at home. It has all the functionality I need it to. Speedy enough for schoolwork, email, videoconferencing, video playback and the educational games assigned by school as well as video streaming for netflix and you tube. Camera/video is not that high quality and a awkward angle but the only thing I have to compare it to is a $2k laptop so that's not a fair comparison. For under $200 I would recommend this as a better and more functional alternative to any tablet/ipad set up. Touchscreen is responsive and can flip it for tablet mode. A keyboard is essential and I like that I can tie the kid google account to my google account to approve/keep track of downloads and applications. It's already been abused with spills, drops, getting sat on, and sticky fingers. Battery life seems excellent, I haven't timed it but can pretty much go all day without being plugged in and charges quickly. Seems sturdy, but won't break the bank if I need to replace it.

Great Chromebook for price and the 2 in 1 feature is a great bonus. Lightweight, responsive, and easy to use. Great touchscreen that responds well to all touch glitching to wrong spot. To be honest I didn't expect much from this when purchased. Bought for college kid to handle simple notes and school stuff until she gets a laptop. The whole 2 in 1 concept of chromebook/Tablet with touchscreen seemed like it would be ok but it's great! Response time to searches or opening the few apps installed are quick. The flip feature makes Netflix time easy and works well. Good picture and screen size though smaller than what I am used to feels just right after some use. My daughter is happy with it and that was the main reason for purchase. She is able to take notes with ease and not have to carry a much heavier laptop. I was hoping she would give it to me but at least I can use it once in awhile. May have to get another soon.

I was looking for small 2 in 1 chromebook with touch in budget. This is great. screen is good. Be aware that this model doesn't support Wacom pen, but you can buy a stylus for 10$ which can do same as Wacom pen. i bought digiroot pen now i am able to take draw notes on this chromebook.

    A Chrome lover’s dream

If you like an easy to use, Chrome based notebook look no further. It bends carefully into the tablet form. Without the drivers downloaded I was able to use my older Wacom tablet, but there was lagging involved. You can use your typical rubber based stylus quite easily for drawing directly on the tablet with apps like Ibis paint, but it doesn’t feel too great. Spending the little more on the Samsung version or saving up to invest in a Surface Pro might be your best bet if you are looking for something strictly to create art on. This Acer Chromebook is definitely something better saved for lite uses based around play store apps. I love being connected directly to my device via my Google account, but some fairly see this as a con. I can easily take it anywhere and just start writing. Since I am infatuated with all things Google it was hard for me not to love and Acer continues to make solid laptops and notebooks and this one is one of them. All in all I love it.

The Chromebook Is a great computer with various features most of which you don’t have to pay extra for. It is very versatile and allows you to be able to switch from a laptop setting to a tablet. It is lightweight and small allows you to be able to take it anywhere and to do various functions without having to worry about the expensive cost definitely worth investing into.

When distance learning became the requirement, the plans we had to buy a new laptop for my freshman accelerated. I had picked out a different model, but when he saw the 2-in-1 feature he was sold. As it turns out, it has been a great buy. We use it with a second monitor and it works well. Camera is good and in this day of class by zoom, it is a actually a great little laptop. No complaint on the speed or performance. It does what it should and does it well. Would buy again. A note of interest...the silver model was like 10-20% higher in price. I compared specs and black vs silver was the only difference. The black looks great. Bought a replacement plan with the extra 20% for silver.

This is a fun Chromebook that does everything I need it to. It's quick, sleek, lightweight, yet sturdy and the battery life is great. The touchscreen is also great, with a good backlight that doesn't wash out any vibrant colors. Is this going to run really heavy duty games? No. Is it going to stream videos in HD, connect to my devices, run my Google apps, and have some casual games as well? Absolutely. Fun for the whole family.

Once we found out that the elementary school was going online, we decided to get these chromebooks. We felt wise purchasing these devices on sale. We actually like these. They are durable and the 180 degree flexibility is an added bonus. The kids operate this easily and rarely have any difficulty doing anything on these machines. They can definitely take a beating. The only cons are expected with the price of such a device. The resolution is a little below what I like and with the Celeron processor, do anticipate that there will be a little delay in loading pages or google office applications. The trackpad does also leave a bit to be desired but is easily overcome with the touchscreen that the kids navigate better than I do. Since the purchase was for the kids as opposed to myself, this is a win on all fronts.

This has been great! Kids can use it for school, I can do everything I normally do from home like email or search on the internet. I like how it syncs up with my phone so I can send text messages on it. I also like that I only need to lightly tap the pad once rather than push down on the pad til it clicks in order to make a selection. Camera is reversible, ports on both sides. I don't use the touch screen much but probably would be good for games. And, it's not so expensive or too big that I won't mind letting the kids take it to school if they need to!

I bought two of these for my twin daughters in 5th grade to have a dedicated device to do their remote schooling and not be distracted by other apps on their iPads... so glad I did we just log into the Chomebook with their school account and everything downloads automatically to look just like what they had access to in the classroom. Got these on a discount but may have paid full price... Dual cameras so it works in laptop or tablet mode... Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass... just enough horsepower to do the basic web apps, zoom meetings, and google docs for school. And they decorated the case with their vinyl stickers.

I bought this Chromebook for my 12 year old and she loves it. The only thing that I was a bit disappointed with was that the salesman told me that it came with a stylus pen but it didn't. I called the customer service line to ask about the pen and I was told that the package does not include a pen. As far as the quality of the machine itself, it's been great so far. It is compatible with the apps that our school district utilizes ask my daughter can do her school work and projects on the apps and turn them in electronically. That had been a blessing because most of her assignments are WEB based.

We recently were in the market for a tablet for our daughters school work and entertainment. When we walked into the store we were welcomed right away by the person at the entrance. He asked what we were shopping for. So we said a laptop or tablet. He directed us to the computers section of the store. Where we were then greeted by a subject matter expert who filled us in all about the Chromebook we were looking for. Once we decided on the great deal, we went to the register back there and were checked out back there. It was amazing the knowledge and helpfulness of the two young men working in the department at the time. The Chromebook has exceeded our expectations and has been very reliable.
