Screen came apart after two weeks

Bought this for my daughter for her remote learning at school. After a couple weeks the lower left hand corner of the screen came apart at the seams. This particular model folds from a laptop all the way into a tablet and that is when the problem occurred. It would have been better if it was just left in laptop form. Computer runs fine but the fact that the screen fell apart after 2 weeks is a testament to the quality of this Chromebook.

Got this for a great price, worth every penny. Using the Chrome browser/Chromebook system versus Windows is SO much better. Our Windows laptops keep on bugging us to update, update, update practically every.single.day and were full of bloatware that I had to painstakingly uninstall one by one, ugh! But the updates cannot be avoided, and many of them take FOREVER to install. No more! The Chromebooks are easy to use, fast, and any updates automatically install quickly with hardly any wait time, with NO constant notifications in our faces. A big plus is that our kids’ schools assign Chromebooks to their students, so our kids are already used to them and know how to use Google Docs, Gmail, etc. All of their online homework assignments and projects are done using Google software/apps.
As for this particular Chromebook, it has a fabulously clear screen with good graphics. The touchscreen works really well. I like that it can be used in tablet mode, with the screen viewable at multiple angles and in multiple ways. You won’t need a mouse to use it, either, because the combination of the touchscreen and the touchpad is more than enough. Battery life is awesome. It is lightweight and compact, very portable. I am seriously thinking of buying a second one (at the sale price), it’s that good.

The hinge broke after 6 months, and Acer doesn't want to honor it under the warranty. The computer was never dropped or mishandled

So far this chrome book has been excellent. My daughter needed one to do her school work. We went in and the employee guided us to this one. Its super light & compact. It seems very durable. My daughter loves the fact that it can also act as a tablet & that its touch screen. Its very easy to set up & use. Plus it has the camera feature which is perfect for class meetings right now. It charges pretty fast & the battery lasts a long time. Again so far so good. Crossing our fingers it'll continue to be a success.

Great Chromebook for price and the 2 in 1 feature is a great bonus.
Lightweight, responsive, and easy to use. Great touchscreen that responds well to all touch glitching to wrong spot.
To be honest I didn't expect much from this when purchased. Bought for college kid to handle simple notes and school stuff until she gets a laptop. The whole 2 in 1 concept of chromebook/Tablet with touchscreen seemed like it would be ok but it's great! Response time to searches or opening the few apps installed are quick. The flip feature makes Netflix time easy and works well. Good picture and screen size though smaller than what I am used to feels just right after some use. My daughter is happy with it and that was the main reason for purchase. She is able to take notes with ease and not have to carry a much heavier laptop. I was hoping she would give it to me but at least I can use it once in awhile. May have to get another soon.

5 stars for what it is, based on price and hardware. I bought this to assist with schoolwork for an elementary schooler now that we're stuck at home. It has all the functionality I need it to. Speedy enough for schoolwork, email, videoconferencing, video playback and the educational games assigned by school as well as video streaming for netflix and you tube. Camera/video is not that high quality and a awkward angle but the only thing I have to compare it to is a $2k laptop so that's not a fair comparison. For under $200 I would recommend this as a better and more functional alternative to any tablet/ipad set up. Touchscreen is responsive and can flip it for tablet mode. A keyboard is essential and I like that I can tie the kid google account to my google account to approve/keep track of downloads and applications. It's already been abused with spills, drops, getting sat on, and sticky fingers. Battery life seems excellent, I haven't timed it but can pretty much go all day without being plugged in and charges quickly. Seems sturdy, but won't break the bank if I need to replace it.

I got this for my elderly mom who is... Well... Technology challenged to say the least. She has always used WIndows machines so I feared taking her off of that platform as the learning (TEACHING) curve could be HUGE. She finally forced my hand after somehow bricking 3 Windows devices in a year.
I decided to go with Chromebook as it is an inherently "safer" eco-system and somewhat familiar to Windows users, especially those of limited technical capacity. So far, so good.
I gave it 4 stars just based on it's somewhat limited horsepower. Please do not take that as a negative necessarily, but if you don't need a large horsepower machine, this is a great choice. My mom does e-mail, lite web-surfing and uses a solitaire and poker app. That's it. Perfect for her.
Additionally, this unit is small, lightweight and versatile in how it can be used so another great choice for those who may not have all of the physical skills they had in their "fighting days".

My son's school uses Chromebooks so I thought I would get this for him with the amazing sale Best Buy had to help with homework and simple games. This thing runs quick, boots quick, and the battery life is very good. My son uses it for all school apps(came in handy during the COVID crisis) and simple games. I think this is the sweet spot for value and performance with Chromebooks.

This is a fun Chromebook that does everything I need it to. It's quick, sleek, lightweight, yet sturdy and the battery life is great. The touchscreen is also great, with a good backlight that doesn't wash out any vibrant colors. Is this going to run really heavy duty games? No. Is it going to stream videos in HD, connect to my devices, run my Google apps, and have some casual games as well? Absolutely. Fun for the whole family.

This is a great chromebook. Perfect size, not too heavy. It was very easy to set up and get going on. The price is fantastic as well. The only few back that I have seen so far is that the keyboard is is not lot and it makes it difficult to use in dim light. Again though, for the price, I can't really complain...

Purchased this Chromebook for emailing, watching youtube, watching movies, and writing. The Chromebook is very fast and easy to navigate. The battery life is great as well. I was initially concerned with getting a device that was only functional with internet access but after using it for a month, I realize how many of my tasks actually involved the internet. I looked at other brands and opted to go with this one because of the screen dimensions, the clarity of the actual display, and the ability to fold it multiple ways. This Chromebook would be great for people of all ages.

Snagged one of these right when the pandemic hit at a sub $200 price and it was one of the best purchases I ever made. These Acer Spin Chromebooks are durable (second one we've owned, first is over 3 years old and still as fast as the day we bought it), fast, light, and great for little ones. Would highly recommend this Acer line to anyone looking.

This laptop was purchased for my child to do their schoolwork from home. It was the easiest setup for any laptop I’ve ever purchased. The touchscreen is durable and responsive. It’s already been dropped several times with no issues. Love the feature that folds it over like a tablet. No lag times in the systems performance either.

Bought this when it was very on sale, so I am happy for the quality for the price I paid, which was $159. I would not pay the $279. I bought it for remote learning needs, and it gets the job done. Some notes....it does not connect to my 2016 scanner or any of my bluetooth products, but the chromecast works fine with it. Pros: Lightweight, I like the look. Does everything i need it to do. Graphics are fine. Apps work good. Cons: The screen glitches constantly. Like little just streaks of black across the screen. The touch screen often doesnt work when I push the screen back all the way to tablet style. Ive had it for a few months and it randomly just shuts off and reboots. The camera is honestly pretty awful, grainy and no flash. And the speakers are very low.

I was looking for an inexpensive Chromebook for home use. Didn’t need a lot of bells and whistles, but the touchscreen is a great feature. I got a great price on a good device. Easy to use. My parents liked it well enough that they bought one as well - but with a larger screen
