I purchased this unit to replace my Asus GX501 laptop with a GTX1080 Maxq. To be honest, I was worried that there would not be a large enough performance difference to justify it, but I have seen noticeable improvements of 20-25%. I believe it is because the laptop is a louder and the fans kick on more. Also, having two DIMM slots for RAM as well as two slots for NVME drive has been a huge plus. Overall, very happy with my first Acer purchase My one complaint is that the materials is the largest fingerprint magnet ever. Very small detail, but the colors are great!

This laptop is wonderful. I've always been a little skeptical of Acer due to some of their low quality products, but I've got to say this laptop hits all the marks. It thin, light, and very powerful. The IPS panel looks great, and colors pop when i play games and work in Photoshop. The 2080 Max-q design makes it to where the heat is dissipated evenly throughout the whole laptop and doesn't get too hot in one specific place (like most MSI laptops...). The 2080 is also very powerful, and I can play any game at max settings with very high frame rate. The M.2 SSD's are also extremely fast, and everything loads in in a snap. There are only 2 things that bug me, which is the RGB lighting on the keyboard. The keyboard is limited to three zones (not per-key), and the lighting itself is not very accurate (i.e. white looks like washed-out blue, red looks weird, etc.). The other thing that bothers me is the USB placement, with only 1 USB on the left and 2 USB's on the right. I really wish it was flipped because the headset dongle is right in the way of my mouse. If I'm playing a game like CS:GO and mouse pad size and move distance is important, I can't have a headset dongle in the way. Other than those, best laptop I've ever had by far. Would highly recommend to gamer's and content creator's.

Beast of a machine. Great for producivity and gaming. Solid build quality, fast internals, and excellent connectivity. Super power in a small chassis. I'm very impressed!

Just received the laptop and and finished the initial setup configuration. Excellent boot up speed and loading speed. The fan is soft when running on normal settings and loud on max settings. The temperature of the GPU and CPU will increase quickly without proper cooling and ventilation as well. However, there is a issue with the Nvidia RTX 2080 Max-Q video display adapter driver software becoming unable to function properly. The screen randomly blacks out with the system restarting by itself. The screen flickers with jagged lines as the system boots up and continues throughout its operation. Troubleshooted the issue with Acer Support / Community with uninstalling/re-installing the video display driver software with manufacturer-specific driver software multiple times as well as with Nvidia's up-to-date driver software with no positive results. The laptop was also restored to original factory settings, however, the issue continued to persist. Perhaps, it was a stroke of bad luck receiving the laptop with this kind of software/hardware issue. I had high expectations and was excited to use the laptop upon arrival with the price that was excellent for its specs, but unfortunately, had to be returned.

Great value. High quality, powerful, and very stylish.

This is a powerful machine that worked really well, most of the time. When playing games like Fortnite, the video driver would periodically crash and kick you out of the application. I tried updating the drivers as new ones came out which helped, but the crashes kept happening, although less often. Not really acceptable for a machine at this price. Also, they keyboard letters started to wear off after a little over a month of use. I ended up returning it.

love it! and i got it on sale! great for gaming and anything you want to do with it! the only annoying side is the fan noise when it's on full blast

This is the best laptop I have had period. Blazing speed, fast processor great graphics. Downside is after 1 month the A-S-D keys faded.

Very nice laptop. Slender, light weight, very fast, beautiful display! It "can" run a little hot, but I picked up a ventilated stand for mine and I haven't needed to run the external fan at all.

I suddenly lost the wifi connection three times today and have to restart the laptop. I checked that my other computer can still connect through wifi. Hence, it is not a network issue but a laptop issue. Now, I have to use the Ethernet cable to connect to the internet. I paid more than $2,000 less than a year ago, but BestBuy has only 30 days return policy. I should have purchased another MAC instead.

Motherboard component fried after 1 and a half years. Waste of money.
