Have used powerline Ethernet adapters for some time, but one died so had to upgrade. Decided on Actiontec based on reviews and price. Net-net, reliability of the connection was an issue - would just stop working at various times. When it stayed connected, it was great, but there was no telling when it would stop. Tech support always said it was "my wiring" (what else is new). Finally one died - after 4 1/2 months. We'll see what the replacement process looks like.

After spending roughly 7 hours on the phone over 3 weekends with Yamaha tech support trying to get my home theater to talk to my home network, I decided to give the powerline adapter route a go. It was so simple. And, it works GREAT!

I bought this because I had accidentally broken my wifi adapter on my desktop. It didn't work all that well anyway. Happened to see this when shopping for another one and figured I'd give it a shot. Couldn't be happier. All you do is plug one adapter into your router/modem and a wall electrical socket, then you plug the other adapter into the wall wherever you computer is, and run an ethernet cable to your computer. I could set it up anywhere in my house and get the full speed of my internet without having to worry about wifi signal. Also, it doesn't require any secondary power, since it's already plugged into the wall!
I definitely recommend this product or another like it to anyone who doesn't want to worry about either the security of wifi, or the signal strength.

I found it to be so easy and works great for any devise that takes an ethernet cable connection. The speed is fast just like being connected right to the router. I would recommend it to every household. PS3, SMART TV, DVR, ETC.

I bought this adaptor to connect my new receiver to wifi. It seems to work. I get a yellow light which indicates a weak connection but I was told by the Geek Squad that this is normal.

Product installed easily, simply just plug it in and you're good to go. Ran into some problems where it would freeze up any activity from the network and would need to pull each unit out and reinitialize the network. Currently running on four devices, couldn't resist at such a price. Have one for my old laser printer, a computer and an Xbox in separate bedrooms connected to my router. Provided better stability on the network than my 2.4Ghz wireless.

I needed to get Ethernet into my garage and did not want to do wireless or cut holes in my walls to pull cable. This was a surprisingly fast solution! Works great! *I now have a hard internet line to my garage!

Powerline adapter--Truly Plug and Play

The power line adapter comes in pairs. Insert one of the pair into an electrical outlet near your home router, the other into an electrical outlet near your device to be connected to the Internet. Connect your router and device to the respective adapters, using the included cables. Wait for the light on the adapter to turn green and the Internet flows through the house wiring. It is best not to place the devices into a surge protector or multi-plug but directly into the electrical outlet. I was using my wireless router to stream Netflix moves wirelessly to my smart TV but had a lot of buffering issues. After installing the adapters, have had no buffering at all and am able to stream movies without interruption.

Very easy to setup. Plugged it in as directed. Plugged my router to it so my wireless unit is now more centralized in my house and gives me better coverage. No drop off of speed or function is noticed.

This was easy to install (pop out of box and plug into a power outlet in different areas of house). No worrying about running wire through your house. Had issues with laptop wireless card working. Versus buying a wireless USB dongle, this was almost as cheap, and has faster connectivity rate, 500 megabits per second. Cheaper than similar Belkin models too (be sure to compare data transfer rates, as some don't operate as fast as wireless, but this should). It came with a data cable so no extra purchase required. You are supposed to be able to connect several of these units together which allows you to use it to run Internet access to Internet ready tvs, or add office computer, and no worry about wireless intercept of data.

Great product! I installed with ease and only best buy new what I was trying to accomplish. Other places couldn't help I tried. This product was suggested to me by a verizon tech when I needed a hard wired computer line to my second floor and the modem was in the basement office. Since installing I have changed back and forth between cable carriers and this product has had no problem.

I purchased this unit because I could not find an easy way to run a cable to my PS3 and the wireless G connection seemed to slow down my other electronics on the wireless network. The would also have more speed capability then wireless G.
When I got the unit home I quickly plugged one in upstairs and one downstairs. I was very glad to see that it came with cables so I didn't have to dig ones out or purchase them at the store (although they are short). I hooked it up to the router and clicked the button on it and then did the same on the second unit. It found a connection right away and my PS3 was online.
The real issue was speed I ran some tests first through the PS3 and came back with only 10mbps which is much slower then expected. I then tried copying from my computer to a laptop and came back with about 85mbps which is well less then the line says as a maximum. I'm not sure if this is due to the wiring in my house or interference but I'm still better off with this.
I can recommend this product based on price and the fact it works. However if you are looking for top speeds look somewhere else.

I only wish I had known of this sooner. I have a number of weak and dead spots in my home which make wireless connections problematic. I had previously run Cat 5 cables under baseboards as opposed to in wall wiring as a simple solution but this is truly THE simple solution. Plug one in to an open port on your router and connect the other to your Smart TV or computer with the included cables and you're done. A stable hardwired connection. Doesn't get any easier than that and no wires to run.
