I would love to write a good review but at this moment cannot. Had a tv installation scheduled and the people no call no show. Was told a case manager would call me.. of course no call.. took off from work loss money and still no tv.. really disappointed

Not a service I would recommend. The Geeks 'accidentally' cancelled my order. It still shows on line but go figure.......useless if you cannot rely on them showing up

While the service is pricey, IMHO it's worth the extra cost vs. either DIY or having someone you know do it for you primarily because of Best Buy's guarantees and knowledge. If something goes wrong and the TV breaks while your friend is installing it, you're out of luck. At least Best Buy is a large enough company to "make it right."
Since I had no outlet on the wall for behind the TV, and I wanted the wires hidden in the wall, I was forced to buy a $90 product as well as an additional $50 for them to install it. However, I wouldn't have thought about running the wires through the wall were it not for the Geek Squad rep offering it to me. I easily could've opted to just have them leave the wires neatly done. So I can't blame Geek Squad for that purchase, I just thought it was expensive.
The day of the install, the Geek Squad technician called me with an estimated arrival window. When he showed up, he immediately put on booties to cover his shoes to protect my home flooring. I didn't ask him to do so, he just did. He went straight to work, assessing where exactly I wanted the TV that would be best for my viewing angles and carefully removed the TV from the stand that it was on to get to work. While my stand was a universal stand not bought at Best Buy, he needed to go to his truck for different "spacers" than what came with it. This impressed me as, had he not had those spacers, he easily could've said, "sorry, this mount won't work with this TV." Instead, he used his own gear to make it work. He also hooked everything back up and gave me a tutorial on the TV settings, remotes, maneuverability of the mount itself (an articulating mounting bracket), and tips and tricks for getting the best picture from my viewing angle.
Overall, the professionalism, attention to detail and end work product were outstanding and I would highly recommend this service.

My Incles First LED TV

My Uncle is 91 years old. He’s had a tube TV all of his life. As a gift I decided to buy him a flat screen (the tube tv literally had no back). I decided to get it installed. The staff were patient, explained everything they were doing with patience, installed his cable box and gave him tips on how to use it. My uncle called me after install and said “I feel like I’m in a movie theater!” I’m so glad I went to Best Buy. I’ve made many purchases from this store but this is by far the best thing that I’ve ever purchased. It changed him completely. I’m forever grateful to the gentleman that made this install. Excellent job!

Normally I'd do this type of install myself, but Best Buy included this with the TV purchase. I was surprised there was only one installer for a 60" TV and I was certain he'd need my help, but I was amazed to watch him do the entire install on his own. He was very professional, the TV was mounted above my fireplace perfectly and not even a smudge on the TV. Excellent job!

Over promises, under delivers

The description says that an installer comes "to your home and perform a preinstallation site survey and review the work to be performed". I took this to mean that they would come out before the installation date to make sure everything was kosher and met criteria. Had this occurred, there may not have been a problem. Instead, they showed up on the date of installation and told my wife that they needed to install two additional outlets since it was conveniently against code to run the wire through the wall (even though my wall is full of wires). It was also conveniently left off the description of the service - but they happened to have some with them to sell. As I said, convenient. There was a "modest" $150 (plus tax) additional fee to resolve this. At this point, you are stuck, so it is either pay it or leave the wire in sight, which defeats the whole purpose of the service. After paying $400 for the installation package with a $2000 tv and a $250 soundbar, I was very disappointed to see the "absolutely necessary expensive add-on" game being played here. I expected better, and will be looking elsewhere for electronics and service from now on. Shame to lose such a good customer over $150.

We ordred a TV + installation + a mount from Best Buy. For a $4k purchase, we were excited. We ordered on Sunday, and told that it was in stock and ready for installation Friday.
Friday we were called for 30 min out on delivery, 4 hours early than the appointment, but who cares, I worked from home that day and excited it was coming early. I was called back 20 min later saying the TV was on backorder, and they would have to wait until the following Thursday-Friday. However, that Saturday (6 days after order), I was called saying they may be able to get us in on Sunday. Excited again, we changed plans to make sure we were home for delivery. We never received a call. No call Days 8-10 either. I finally call to see what is going on, and they don't even have us on the books for Sunday or the promised Thurs-Friday delivery. Even though the TV is in stock, sitting at the warehouse, the delivery company is booked and cannot deliver until Monday now, since they never put us in their calendar. We are now looking at what was a 5 day installation to, if we are lucky 15 day.
Due to the unreliability of the contractors they use, you may experience less than steller service. Also Best Buy doesnt stand by the service, saying "its a third party so it is out of our control". If Monday does not hold true, we will be canceling and ordering off another website.

A Logistical Nightmare and Lack of Communication

I wanted TV mounting with my new TV. Upon ordering, they asked which day I would like to take delivery. I selected a Saturday, as I would be home to let the installation services professional into my apartment.
After completing my order, I was informed that someone would be reaching out to me to schedule my TV mounting, something I was led to believe I had already done. They informed me that they were calling solely about the appointment to mount the TV; they had no details regarding my delivery date.
After realizing that I had delayed my delivery quite a few days in order to make sure I'd be home to let professionals in, they informed me that they only mount TV's from 9:00AM-4:00PM on Monday to Friday, no exceptions. They require that someone be home for installation, so if you have a standard work week and standard business hours you're on your own. Not only do you have to take at least a half day off work, but the hours in which they deliver straddle the half day, so the only guaranteed solution is to take an entire day off of work in the event they show up early/late (as happened with my TV delivery, which was 4 and a half hours before the beginning of its' scheduled delivery time).
Upon showing up, my installation professional informed me that my wall did not perfectly conform to standards, even though the package and TV mount never actually specified what a standard frame wall is. He informed me that we would need to apply a different mount for the best results. As a result, my purchase, which was made using credit card points, ended up an out of pocket purchase with multiple returns and trips to the store.
Let me clarify; Anthony, the installation services professional, was courteous, patient, and did everything in his power to make the experience as smooth as possible. He called his manager to make sure that I would not be double charged for mounts, and his calm demeanor was very helpful throughout the process. A big thank you and 5 star review go out to Anthony. The rest of the process, however, was as unpleasant an experience I've had with a major retailer in many, many years. Tremendously disappointed with Best Buy in this interaction.

I tried setting up a wall mounting service in the store in DC. The guy ahead of me waiting in line turned around and informed me that he had been waiting in line for over 30 minutes. He told me this after I had been waiting for over 15 minutes. He and I were the only two people in line while there was one lady at the counter being serviced. I left the store and decided to set up wall mounting service over the phone. Bad idea... I told the customer service employee over the phone that I needed a TV mounted on the wall. I told the customer service representative exactly what I wanted and the customer service rep. repeated exactly what I asked for in my order. There was no mention of the fact that I had to buy ALL OF THE ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES SEPARATELY. Had I known, I probably would have declined Best Buy's service. Installation amounted to $450. $450......
After 15 years of shopping at Best Buy, I have officially become a loyal customer of hhgregg after this experience.
Good bye, Best Buy. It's been great conducting business with you.
