I am a fan of Marvel, and just about everything they've produced since the first Iron-Man came into the scene. However, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. gets off to a rocky start. They have access to just about everything Marvel has, but the show doesn't utilize these assets in its first go around.
Phil is back and leading a new team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and does his best to go through the missions he and his team have before him. There is a lot of hidden plot points as the show progresses and it tries to keep your interest, but the development does take its time to get to it.
As the MCU movies progressed, you get to see why the show had to have a slow start. Spoilers ahead if you haven't seen Captain America: The Winter Soldier yet, but after this movie was released and we all found out that HYDRA was behind the scenes in running S.H.I.E.L.D. the show took off into a more understandable stance. HYDRA went down after Captain America and thus affected the show.
So as season 2 of Agents gets underway, we get to see a better show with more interesting plots to it. More villains and characters are expected. So the show will pickup steam in the second season. So I recommend watching the first season to get to know the characters.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 1 Blu-ray Set Review

Agents of SHIELD is a great TV show. Yes, it does take a couple of episodes to get into to it, but once you're hooked, you'll enjoy watching it. This blu-ray set includes complete first season and some pretty cool special features. It's definitely worth your time and money, especially if you like Marvel movies like Iron Man, The Avengers, and Captain America.
Pro tip: I would recommend anyone who hasn't seen Captain America: The Winter Soldier to watch it after episode 16 of Agents of SHIELD. After episode 17 the show will probably spoil major plots of the movie.

An Amazing Series That Ties The MCU Together

If you'd have told me 10 years ago that we would get a major TV show based on SHIELD agents, I'd have called you crazy. Yet here we are, and Agents of SHIELD is a perfect tie in for those waiting patiently between Marvel movies.
Granted, the first season starts off a little slow and formulaic, but it starts to grow into its own. By the second season, it is banging on all cylinders. The first series remains important not because of the Marvel references, but because of the character building done throughout. Every character matters, and every one seems to have a satisfying arc.
I can't recommend this series enough, especially for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. #ItsAllConnected

this was a fairly good type of series with good to fair actors. The leader of Shield Agent Colson was a bit tight at times, but generally believable. Melinda May was very good as the stoic agent who was shown to the end to be one of the most solid agents in the series. She was at times put off but that was her character. Grant Ward was sort of a mystery, because it was not clear until the very end who's side he belonged. Kind of a weak anti-hero type. The twins Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons were perfect for their roles. Skye was terrific for her part as the computer hacker. But she was may be really too young for the part and not nerdy enough. However, those eyes were a killer. In the Shield survived with the help of Samuel Jackson, who you forgot was a Marvel character. Would have been better if he played a larger role. He is such a imposing figure and takes over the scene when he appears.

As an avid comics reader and fan of Marvel movies (animated and otherwise), I hoenstly believe this series has all the heart and fantasy of the movies. No, there aren't a lot of superheroes. But Shield has hundreds (probably thousands) of employees. Most of them aren't super powered. This show gives us a glimpse of what 99 percent of the agency does.
The series does start out a bit slow, and I'll admit I had my doubts. But by midway through I was completely hooked. Believable characters, entertaining storyline, good action scenes. Not to mention the actors are great and there are several movie character cameos throughout. For fans of Marvel, I think AoS is a must see.

The 2nd season of the Arrow on bluray, dvd, and digital copy were all very good and useful. I enjoyed the new characters and old, and the writing was just as good as last season possibly better. All and all the whole second season was a success, and the quality of the bluray was terrific.
The Shield had a slow start, but by the fifth show you were hooked. The fact it was based off the story line of Captain America was very cool and exciting. I liked the character development and the casting. The price of 55.00$ and change was a little high, but I would buy it again.

The Show is set in the same universe as Marvel Studio's movies (Iron Man, Thor, etc) and takes place shortly after The Avengers. Agent Coulson returns from the dead to lead a team of agents from SHIELD, Marvel's super spy agency. The show is designed to demonstrate how "normal" people function and maintain order in a world of superheroes. Gregg is fantastic as Coulson, and the show starts off pretty strong, but lags in the middle trying to set up the main cast. It gets a serious jolt towards the end of the season, thanks to the events depicted in the movie "Captain America: the Winter Soldier," which have serious ramifications for SHIELD. If you're a fan of the Marvel movies, and especially the character of Phil Coulson, you'll enjoy the show, warts and all.

I like the Marvel movies and wanted to see the show so I bought the season and watched the whole season in 3 days. I love how they tied the movies Thor Dark World and Captain America Winter Soldier into the story line. I wish I would have known that so I could have watched them in order with the show. Great episodes with a continuous overall storyline with unexpected twists. I wish I would have watched this before this season started so I could have continued with the shows. If you like or love the Marvel universe, you'll definitely like this show.

The series starts off a little slow but this might be due to the plot twist about 2/3 in which ties in with Captain America: Winter Soldier. Most of Whedon's shows start off a little slow to build background and move into higher gear once setting and characters are set. Once this is done, the show becomes very engaging but you need to watch the show in order as episodes build on other episodes. Agents of Shield is not any different and the back half of the series builds on items seen in the first half. The dvd set is a good way to watch the series.

This is one of my favorite new shows.
I will admit that, for people who aren't hardcore Joss Whedon fans, some people may feel the show is a little slow to start. But, as someone who knows and loves Joss's style, I expect this and know the wait will be worth it. And it was.
The actors are great, the characters are wonderful. It has a little bit of everything--drama, humor, action. You root for the good guys, love to hate the bad guys, and get sucker punched when you think you've got it all figured out. To me, it's completely Joss-esque.

If you like action tv, and are a comic fan, then you will like this. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is based on the iconic agency that defends the world in the marvel universe. Spun off from Marvel's The Avengers it follows a team led by the newly revived Agent Coulson (Killed by Loki in The Avengers), and an interesting array of fellow agents. There are tie ins, and referrals to most of the marvel movies(haven't seen anything with Spidey yet), and guest appearances with the stars of those movies. You will enjoy this for sure. Nuff Said.

The main gripe people have had with this show is that had a pretty slow start. That is true, but the progress picks up. This show does a great job of tying in with the movies and then directing the focus onto other matters. Something to note about the details of the inside cover photo. It claims to have one special feature per disc. After exploring every disc, I came to learn that not every disc has special features. Only a couple of the first 4 discs contain commentaries. The deleted scenes, featurettes, gag reels, VFX breakdowns, marvel's assembling a universe, and field reports are all on the last disc.
This is a great show to own for any fan of Marvel and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Some people took awhile to warm up to it, but please, give this show a chance! If you're a Marvel fan, you'll love it. It really gets into gear in the post-Captain America 2 episodes. What a twist! All the connectivity to what's going on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are highly appreciated, like the Asgardian episodes. It's nice to have a weekly dose of the MCU without waiting for 1 or 2 Marvel movies a year. I can't wait to see where they're going with this show, especially with Coulson and Skye.

This is by far my favorite show on tv. It did start a little slow, but it had me on the edge of my seat and guessing the whole way through. I absolutely loved how the show tied in with the story of Captain America: Winter Soldier. I hope season 2 does the same with next year's Marvel movies. This set also includes some cool special features, especially the look back at how the Marvel movies and TV franchise started back at comic con in 2007, leading up to now. Must watch!!

Agents of SHIELD had a slow start, mainly because they had to lay groundwork for payoffs down the line, and they had to play some things on the coy side, so as not to step on the Captain America: The Winter Soldier reveal and tie in. When the show finally found its footing though, it hit the ground running in a bug way. They people who were dissatisfied with the early episodes and gave up are really missing out for not sticking with it. I will say that binge-watching the box set is far better than watching the show as it aired. The set is a little light on extras for my tastes, but the bonus materials it does have are pretty good.

I fell in love with this show and it's characters from the very start of season one and have been waiting for this series to come to bluray so I could catch up on some of the episodes I missed. I was very pleased with this collection and the quality of the Bluray discs and the episodes that are contained on them. The package design with the logo is awesome! I also enjoyed all of the extra content packaged with this collectors set and the price was definitely super!

I was really excited about this show and was going to watch it regardless of whether it was good or bad. That said, there are some slower episodes and some can get a little campy, but overall I love what's been done with the characters and how the story fits in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Give the show a chance and, if you haven't seen it yet, don't watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier until you watch the 16th episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I love how every episode has it's own way of going with the plot like one episode no fight scenes but it has stuff like hacking which I love. This was a great season, I look forward to seeing season 2 on tv and I thank the people at Best Buy for helping me find this season because I had trouble finding it and the person who helped me said that I got the last one at this store. So yeah this season was great and the service at Best Buy was amazing.

I am a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I didn't watch The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. when it was broadcast because I figured it would be cheesy and low budget. Boy was I wrong. This show is amazing, and it helps to fill in the gaps between the movies. It's a show that grows better and better with each episode. Most shows to the exact opposite. If you are a fan of the MCU, than you owe it to yourself to give this series a try!
