A good camera, but still lacking one major feature

I'm a professional musician who plays the theremin on youtube. I'm on a quest for a camera that actually lets you run external audio into the camera while recording video. This is yet another let down, but it's at least a good video camera to start with.
At first this product got my attention because it has an audio video input / output jack. This made me think I could simply use just the audio to run line audio into the camera while recording the video so I wouldn't have to mix a/v later. I felt let down when I discovered this was not the case. Now, I still have to mix a/v from different sources. I don't like recording with the mic.
What part of "give us external audio in" does the manufacturer not understand?
Other than that, the picture quality is much better on this camera than an insignia I recently got. There's no video artifact, and very little grainyness.
I would avoid using the camera to take important photos, as the camera waits half a second to actually take the picture after you press the picture button. What's up with that?
Oh well, I guess I'll have to break down, and get a professional A/V mixer board. DAng! I was SO hoping to be able to avoid mixing.
I would recommend this to a friend

This camera is small and in most peoples price range. I like it because it can record for a long time and it is very fast with uploading onto my computer.
