Great movie, but the quality of BlueRay isn't there.

I have loved this movie since I was a kid. This edition is an absolute must for fans of the genre.

If you're searching for a high speed, low drag super action thriller, search no more because "Aliens" is the film you're looking for! Even if you've not seen the first movie, "Alien" you'll still be able to enjoy this film to the fullest. That was of course by the design of the producers and this films superb director, James Cameron. Few sequels ever out do or exceed the accomplishments of their predecessors but "Aliens" can certainly be counted among those select few! With an exceptional script and an extremely talented cast, James Cameron crafted one of the best films to have ever graced the silver screen and the home theater screen.

There are only a handful of sequels which are better than their progenitors. Aliens is one of those handful. Sigourney Weaver is fabulous reprising her role of Ripley, who has returned to civilization and then receives word that the world where she had her horrific encounter in Alien has since been colonized-and now those colonists are missing. Despite initial reluctance, her recurring nightmares eventually prompt her to go back to that world for her past experience; this time accompanied by gung-ho marines, who, needless to say, get more than they bargained for. Ripley's reluctance to face this horror a second time soon transforms into obsession as she forms a bond with a young girl who's the only survivor of the colony. This film succeeds because it wisely elects not to simply recreate Alien in another form but rather tell a different kind of story that ends up becoming a classic as well.

One of Ridley Scotts' greatest masterpieces, this film is textbook if you are looking to make a great sequal to an established film. With extended scenes to complete the vision that the director had in mind, this film now holds a place in my 10 most watched movies. Reprising the role of Ripley, Sigourney Weaver, lost in space after an alien killed her entire crew and forced her to destroy her craft, finds herself being prosecuted by the corporation for the unexplained destruction of her spacecraft and its' precious cargo. But when a colony loses contact with earth on the same planet she claimed the creature had come from, the company recruits her to join a military task force to land and assess the situation.

This is a scifi classic we all know and love. For younger viewers the pacing may be a little slow but once it takes off your heart won't stop racing. There are deleted scenes included, original theatrical and 2003 re-release, as well as commentary available during the film. A code for the digital version of the movie is available as well for members with GooglePlay or Vudu accounts. Overall excellent purchase and I highly recommend this film for a scary movie night with a loved one.

By far, one of my favorite movies of all time. Aliens is one of a few sequels to live up to the original film and in this case surpass it! With a terrific cast including Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn, Bill Paxton and Lance Henriksen this movie delivers in all aspects. The story is great, action is intense and the special effects are done tremendously well. If you're thinking about getting Aliens then this special edition is the way to go with both the theatrical cut and director's cut included. I highly recommend this dvd!

aliens is probably the best sci-fi movie of my generation(I'm 30) which is very rare to say considering it's a sequel to one of the best sci-fi movies period. There is no flaws in this movie whatsoever. For a sci-fi movie such as this the acting is grammy esque. There has been a lot of alien type movies to hit the big screen since aliens but none even come close to this masterpiece. No disrespect to ridley scott but I can only imagine if james cameron was in charge of the original, one can only imagine.

This movie is an incredible combination of action, suspense and comedy with a very good story line and great special affects (especially considering how old it is). Definitely worth owning on Blu-Ray if you have the DVD player and TV to view it on!

You have movies like The Godfather that is arguably model that all other mob movies use as an outline and with Aliens there's not difference. After this movie, more and more Sci-fi movies with aliens combat, outlined their movie after Aliens. This movie is the best of saga, and the director's cut is even better

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. The action, acting, plot are terrific and the special effects hold up even in today's standards. The soundtrack is wonderful too. James cameron, sigourney weaver and others are where they are today because of the success of this movie

This is one of the best scifi action movies of all time. I love the Aliens franchise as a whole, but this movie is my favorite for sure. Looks great in high definition, and I was excited to play it with extended footage which I had never seen before. Get it!

Aliens is an EXCELLENT movie!!! It is very entertaining with plenty of action, suspense, and humor. This movie has a great cast of unique and funny characters that you will love to watch. Aliens is one of my top favorite movies!

This was the most worthy sequel ever of the orignal Alien. The Alien was one of the best Horror and Sci-Fi movies of it's time. I think Aliens was able to carry the same message and made it action-packed. This was one of the best of James Cameron.

While not as scary as the original, and more of an action movie than straight scifi horror, this one manages to be even better than the orignal! With an all star cast and nonstop action you can't afford to pass this one up for 10 bucks! Easliy the best of the alien series

This James Cameron directed sequel to Ridley Scott's 'Alien' far surpasses its predecessor in terms of both storyline and special effects. Although it does have some cheesy material (especially that of the Marine personalities, which seem far from what we would expect of professional soldiers), it still manages to conjure up enough on-screen magic to make it worthwhile. Nice widescreen special edition, loaded with bonus material.

Even after more than 10 years and significant advances in special effects, Aliens is still a suspenseful and captivating movie. Even though I've seen the movie several times, I'm still glued to the screen.

This was a superb sequel. Lots of great action and scariness involved here. I couldnt imagine what it would be like too have one of those aliens inside you. This movie rules!!!
