I purchased this because I needed an ultra portable, VESA mountable computer for my photo booth business. I was looking for the Alienware Alpha because it would fit everything I needed and was fast and fairly inexpensive. After searching around I found this "Alpha" online at Best Buy. I purchased it and when it arrived I realized they sent me the Steam Machine, which is the same thing except it comes with a wireless gaming controller and Steam operating system instead of Windows 10. I wanted the Alpha and went back to what I had purchased and even though it's called an Alpha on the site it shows that it has the Steam OS. I needed the unit quickly so I just purchased a copy of Windows 10 for an additional $120 and installed it on the Steam Machine. Now, it works exactly the way I wanted it to. I have no problem with the unit, which is why I gave a 4 star review, but beware: This is not an Alpha, it is a Steam Machine.

I bought this to use at a tradeshow. We needed something powerful but light and portable. It came with Steam OS and linux. I swapped the original drive with an SSD, slapped win 10 on it, the drivers were super easy to grab and update, and never looked back. Works great! No problems and the Sales Engineers are happy. It's nice to have a real Mac Mini alternative.
