Read The Specs and do Research Before Buying

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Many people are complaining about how the CPU is not liquid cooled even though the picture shows it to be.
The specs for the computer clearly says that it is air cooled, and while yes this is very misleading, you can't immediately fault the company for not reading the specifications yourself.
With that being said, the lack of dual channel ram is definitely an issue but can be remedied by swapping with 2x8 GB sticks or just adding another 16GB stick (If you're already spending $2k on this, is a bit more money an issue?)
Also, watch reviews on youtube before buying to see what the internals actually look like instead of buying immediately and then complaining at the lack of upgradability. It's alienware, its always been that way unfortunately.
There's also plenty of other pre-builts out there or system builders that you can choose from aside from Alienware.

Incompetent Alienware DO NOT PURCHASE
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Since the recent spike in GPU prices, I decided to settle for my first Alienware prebuilt instead of building my own PC.
I would have to say that this is by far one of the worst prebuilt PC's that I have ever put my hands on. It looks great from the outside, and comes with enticing specs but in reality this is far from the truth.
Out of the box this computer is nothing more than a fancy space heater with LED's. The internal design of the R series desktops are horrible, and to make it worse the OEM fans on every component are mediocre at doing their job. Instead of putting in an actual quality GPU, they decided to purchase the chip from NVIDIA and then produce a god awful shroud cover and cooling system called a blower card. Blower cards are the lowest quality designs, providing little to no cooling potential, which forces your GPU to downclock itself because it's trying to save itself from frying. The CPU has this same issue. The only way to make this PC a somewhat good rig is to buy a liquid cooler AIO for your CPU and then upgrade all the fans in the case. But why pay $2,000 just to pay $150 more for slightly better temperatures? Alienware and Dell tech support are useless, so you're basically stuck returning this computer.
I also forgot to mention that even though this was a brand new PC in the box, just the other day I took out the GPU to clean off the blower fan and I noticed that there were screws missing on the shroud, which isn't normal at all and could indicate some kind of foul play if you ask me.
Another piece of advice, if you DO purchase this computer, or any R series desktops from Alienware make sure you immediately do a clean thermal paste application on the CPU. You should also make sure you are purchasing a liquid cooled CPU along with purchasing aftermarket Corsair ML120 fans to replace to horrible OEM case fans that basically do nothing.
TLDR: If you want a high performance PC, do not, I repeat do NOT buy Alienware. You are much better off building your own PC even if it means you're paying more. This way, you're not risking frying your components and sacrificing 20-30% of your GPU and CPU's performance because companies like Alienware don't know how to utilize more than 2 of their brain cells in the development in their "elite gaming PC's". If you're someone who isn't very tech savvy, sure this might be a decent purchase, but for those who know about computers, and enjoy gaming at anything past 1080p this is a complete waste of your time and money.

Aurora R12 MAJOR memory defect - DO NOT BUY
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
FYI - the Aurora R12 cannot run the RAM as spec. Google the issue. I returned the R12 because the BIOS is not properly configured, and there is a major RAM bottleneck. The CPU and GPU are great, but cannot run with hamstrung ram.
Also upgrading memory in these machines is a nightmare.
Stay away from Dell / Alienware.

This pc is amazing. The only thing you have to do before you start gaming is update your drivers. When you are setting up the pc, it’ll ask you if you want your pc to be recognizable to the Alienware support services. Check the box so it is recognizable, this will make it so that when you go on the dell support website, they will automatically recognize your pc and tell you exactly which drivers to download. Once your done downloading all the drivers you need, you can play any game you’d like at a high frame rate. Personally, I just downloaded fortnite on this new pc after updating my drivers, and it runs 600-700 FPS on unlimited frame rate. I think this pc is great, it’s very fast and reliable.

DO NOT BUY THIS

Please do not buy this pc. Even though i didn't but this pc I can give you a few reasons to avoid it. A couple reasons you should stay away. There is only 1 16gb stick of ram. Usually at 1,900 you should at least be getting 2 8gb sticks of ram. I wont trash the speed of the ram due to the fact that intel doesn't need the fastest ram. Why is 1 sick of a bad? This is bad because it will slow the computer down. Another reason you should avoid this pc is, It doesn't state what motherboard you are getting. They could be putting in a cheap motherboard that slows down your pc and you wouldn't even know until you get it. My last reason is the fact that you are only get 256gb of ssd storage and 1tb of hdd. for a computer this price you should at LEAST be getting 500gb of ssd and at LEAST 2tb of hdd. My final statement. Please from me to you do NOT get this computer. Its so easy to build a pc just look up a couple videos on what to get based off your price range and when you get the parts just watch a video on how to build it. If you need or want any help with anything related to pc you can contact me at. nick.salzo on instagram. Thank you!!

After hours of trouble shooting, turns out the RAM was faulty. I'm not even going to bother replacing it because the case is extremely small and everything about the PC is sketchy. The inside looks like they had to play tetris to fit everything. It comes with one case fan and a crappy cpu cooler. The 3070 is even worse than the founders edition, it's Dell's OEM. The only thing that benchmarked good were the hard drives. The GPU was average, the processor was average to good. That being said, Warzone couldn't get a constant 50 FPS on 1080p. Rocket League looked good, but had stuttering issues and couldn't even get it to run smoothly. We're talking ROCKET LEAGUE. Had to update all the drivers, made sure everything was up to date. Everything. Even the bios needed to be updated. After 20 years of building/ordering custom PC's, this is by far the absolute worst prebuilt I've ever had and was nowhere near plug n play ready. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PC.

I was excited to get this gaming PC. However, it was defective right out the box. HDMI port did not work. I even plugged in my PS5 to make sure it wasn’t the monitor. When the PC was powered on it sounded like a refurbished Dyson vacuum. This was my 1st gaming PC and I am really disappointed. Back to the drawing board.
