I purchased the aurora r12 on 9/5/21, by October the pc was overheating and having throttling issues. Playing modern games such as Death Stranding caused the CPU to consistently hit 92 degrees Celsius on default settings, this will destroy the computer. I tried fixing this by replacing the CPU cooler but Dell does not want you to work on your own computer, so my system now boots to a black screen. Dell suggested I send the system in for repairs, meaning the overheating issues will not be fixed. I declined and decided to dismantle my Aurora r12 and use the graphics card and CPU in a custom build. I do not recommend this computer.

Dear Ricky,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your valued feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience with your Aurora R12. This is certainly not what we like to hear from our loyal customers. It is important for us to hear about any inconsistencies with our products. Below I have provided steps that walks you through troubleshooting for overheating problems. Along with a link to an article that has more information if it is needed.
• Make sure the system is in a well- ventilated area • Use laptops on flat surfaces to improve airflow. Hard table- tops are recommended and avoid using any type of cloth or any other soft material under the laptop • For desktop systems make sure there is enough clearance around the system to allow the air to flow. If the system is in an enclosure try to move it to a more ventilated area for testing • Check that the air vents are clean and that there is nothing obstructing them. See General Maintenance for Maintaining Your Dell Computer for instructions on how to clean your system: https://dell.to/3oenBfH • Update your system BIOS to the latest available in Dell Support Site • You can reset your BIOS settings to undo any changes that could be causing the system to overheat. See How to restore the BIOS (System Setup) defaults on a Dell Product • Disable NVIDIA G SYNC and run a stress test using SupportAssist. Click here to run the video stress test when you are ready: https://dell.to/3nmRfiZ • Navigate to the Thermal Controls in the Alienware Command Center, which is found under the Fusion tab. There you can adjust thermal control of system fans and change the status of active venting. This link is for the Alienware Command Center Quick Guide, where you can find a video to explain how to use the Manual Mode for the Thermal Controls: https://dell.to/3nZtYDm. • Here is a link to troubleshoot your Alienware Overheating: https://dell.to/3nmRfiZ

Cheap parts, you can build your own or go with a better prebuilt for less. Had one for 6 months and it was junk. Don't buy it. Any alienware for that matter. I got double the power for the same price and built it the way i wanted.
