Falls apart within 3 months. returning 2nd unit

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.when I first purchased this headset I was pleased with it, but after a couple of months the right speaker fell off the unit, leaving it hanging on by wires. I snapped the speaker back in place and continued to use the headset, with the speaker falling off, for about another month until the right speaker stopped working and the headset would not power up at all. I returned that headset to BestBuy and exchanged it for the same model. This was in May '23. It is now August 3 23, and I am about to return this 2nd headset for the EXACT same issues. the right speaker is falling off. Battery life is nowhere near 30 hours. Its more like 8 or 10. I have all alienware accessories (mouse, keyboard) for my alienware laptop, and I've replaced every accessory at least once. this will be the 2nd time I am replacing this headset. I will not be replacing them with an alienware headset, which I am not happy about.

Don't waste your time and money

I have an Alienware R16 computer and a widescreen Alienware monitor, both of which I'm very happy with, so I figured go with an Alienware headset despite some worrisome reviews. Bad choice. The battery went dead in the first pair within a month. I returned them no problem. The new pair lasted just long enough so that I could no longer return them. The attachment point between the headset and the ear piece would slip out, see picture. I lived with that for a while, but then the battery once again died and will not recharge. So I'm now having to buy a different brand.

Poor design

Alienware - Dark Side of the Moon 920H

The weight was awkward and truly unbalanced. It is well-built as you would expect from a company such as Alienware, however, where marketing and promotion have done their job exceptionally, design and mfg failed to deliver the quality that was promised. The audio from these is truly exceptional and everyone should delve into Atmos Dolby headphones once in their lifetime, however save your money. Alienware needs to stick to making rigs and get out of the headphone business. With that being said, playing fps shooters and a few mmos with these, I must say that immersion was definitely enhanced with the noise-cancelling feature, when it worked the first three weeks... After the third week, the noise cancelation no longer worked and began ringing whenever you would turn it on. Save your money folks. Get turtle beach, or even razer or Logitech. I spent my hard earned money on these so you don't have to. The battery life states on the box is accurate. The touch enabled left and right ear covers are very sensitive by the way

Build Quality Makes Me Upset
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ill start this review off with saying im a disabled gamer, I use this headset for gaming, video streaming, and medical video chats with my doctor. I hang my headset up after every use and take very good care of it because $200 to me is ALOT of money. This headset was purchased 1/23/2023 and has currently fully fell apart on me. Im not 8 months into having it and there's nothing I can do as far as getting another one. The store employee assured me that it would last years and I trusted them. Very sad with this purchase.

Dell lost a great supporter and customer!!

It says this headset will connect to Xbox series x, a big fat lie!! I spoke with geek squad took the headset and counsel to the store they worked at it for hours with no resolve. I even returned the first headset got a new one just in case for some reasons that pair was defected and the new headset still could not connect! So I called dell since they produce this headset (the reason I wanted the headsets so bad) just for some ill mannered Costumer Care Specialist to talk very nasty to me and tell me that I need to call Microsoft because my Xbox is broken!!! Point Simplified buying this headset was a full blown nightmare I regretted it from the second I open the box!! After the dealings with CCS from dell I just returned the headset and bought a Steele Series a decision I do not regret!!!! Dell lost a great supporter and customer!!

Bad Mic, bunch of software issues

Was told this would be a top option for a good mic, wasn’t the case. The mic is really really bad. There’s $50 corsair options that sound much better. Mic quality is expected to be bad, but it also had several issues where i couldn’t get it to play stereo randomly. This wasn’t a pc issue, any other headphones worked fine and would play stereo. But this would play mono by default and i had to do some mind numbing maneuvers to get around it. Dont get it, go for corsair hs65.

Alienware headphones

These headphones did not hold up for more than 5 months they are literally falling apart and have had audio issues from the start. I’m not sure if this is an isolated incident but I DO NOT recommend these headphones. I’m sure for the price you can find something MUCH better. Finding support for getting a replacement is basically impossible on dells website, so save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for gaming headphones.

Buyer beware

The warranty says 2 years through dell but after playing phone tag for a couple of hours they say the warranty is through my PC? That makes no sense I will never buy a dell / alienware product again lesson learned. Beware if you buy their junk they will give you the run around, last year my desktop fan was making a grinding noise they gave me the run around on that too.

Came broken, not easy set up.

Every option besides blue tooth under the audio settings has 3 audio ouputs and in puts, super annoying. When I finally was able to hear something through the headphones i found out they came broken, one ear was hot to the touch and could only play a crackled pinging sound during the audio diagonosis. Got them on sale for $100 when they are upwards of $200, if they worked id probably still have them but I just returned them to the closest store.

Poorly designed e-waste

I still have my steelseries arctis and my old logitech g930 (like 10 years old at this point) and they have outlasted this.

Touch controls worked seemingly at random… like once out of 10 tries it would respond but NEVER how you want. Try to adjust volume? It’ll turn the RGB on or off. Sound profile is harsh and shrill. Clamping force is WAY too tight. Command center software is LAUGHABLY bad. Firmware update issues. This headset should be recalled.

After all the hassle, the headphones were terribly quiet even at max volume. One assumes that paying 200$ for a beadset would at least get you decent sound. Went back to my AW510h

Poorly built

The headphone headband design has a weak spot where it attaches to the headphone and has already come loose. The microphone is also starting to have issues. I’m usually pleased with Alienware products but these are junk. I wouldn’t buy again.
