    The best reasonably priced IEM's

I just bought it today and I am very satisfied with my purchase. All the reviews I have heard said this was a good product when compared to other $50 IEM's. They were definitely right! The cord is made of rope material to provide more durability for people who tend to rap the cord around their mp3 players. The jack is good for small devices, like the Creative Zen V Plus because the jack is small and straight and is not bulky. All the instruments blend well together with the vocals in all songs. Also, the amount of bass is just right for people who listen to rock and even classical music. The bass in contrabass instruments in classical music gives it that live feel without distracting the listener from the rest of the instruments. This does a little better job with rock music as the bass blends better with the other instruments. It lacks a little in the highs, but it still a lot better than standard headphones. For bass lovers, look elsewhere as it will not be enough bass for you.

    Fantastic set of headphones...

I avoided in-ear headphones for a long time for a couple of reasons. First, I always found them very uncomfortable as I have sensitive ear canals. Second, I didn't care for their sound reproduction as they tend to be too tinny, generally lousy in the highs, and flat as a board in the lows. I am probably a bit more picky about it than most, but I just want my music to sound good. But I went through probably 4 or 5 different sets of headphones before I came to these. I am extremely pleased with these. The highs are very crisp, and the lows strong. In fact, I was shocked when I heard these, because I had pretty much given up on finding a set of in-ear phones that had any bass at all. Keep in mind, it comes with three sets of inserts, so it is important you figure out which ones fit your ears best. Otherwise, you won't get a good seal in your ear, and the bass will be non-existant. A bad fit will also effectively eliminate the isolating quality of these phones. And like any other headphone that goes in your ear, you'll have to find the right placement. In my case, putting them in too deep kills the bass. But it's not a big deal, and you usually find the right spot within minutes of trying them. The cord is braided, which is a bit of a double edged sword. It's more durable, and doesn't tangle as easily as normal cords. On the hand, they do make a lot of noise when they move around. So these might not make the best phones for working out in. Fortunately, there is a slider you can use to tighten up the two cords around your neck, which pretty much takes care of the noise. I would definately recommend these to anyone. They may seem a bit pricy, especially when you consider all the sub-twenty dollars sets out there. But these are definately worth it. I've been through a lot of different sets of in-ear, and these are far better than any I've heard yet. These even beat out a lot of the over-ear sets I've had. All in all, I'm extremely happy with these.

    Pretty Decent headphones

My stock iPod headphones had just lost the sound in one of the ear buds, so I was looking for something that was good and wan't too expensive. These headphones get the job done. They stay in your ears really well if you put the wire behind then over your ear. I recommend these to any runner who is looking for headphones that stay in your ears. Also, one of the great features of these headphones is that their wire is made of a tough and durable rope. I think that the headphone part that plugs into your mp3/computer/anything might be plated in gold, three people who saw the headphones said they were, but I'm not entirely sure. One last thing, the quality is quite good. Overall 4 stars because they are good for anything but they do not have a 90 degree plug.

my apple ear buds went out so i needed new pair. i knew i liked altec lansing sound cause i had herd a couple stereos that were altec lansing. so i found the bass boster ones and the sound was AMAZING!! i have a pair of bose on ear headphones that are like one hundred and seventy dollars and the sound is comparable to them! then came the real test..... i couldnt find them for a couple days. i finally found them in a pair of pants that had been through the washing machine and the dryer. oh darn. i was shure they wouldnt work but shure enough after i picked the lint out of them and plugged them in my ipod touch. they worked!! just last night they went through the washer and dryer again and were of course... fine. i couldnt ask for more! so to sum it up its a pair of ear buds that sound heavenly (especally the bass) and are indistructable!

    So Far the Best

First thing I noticed was the durability of the cords, thats a big plus for me as my previous pair had the internal wires exposed. Pressed firmly these really give a low to high I have not experienced yet until using these. I tried the 29rs and returned them because they didn't have the bass at low volume, well at any volume. I took them back and got these and I'm jamin right now as we read. With three earpiece rubbers to choose from I would recommend these to anyone able to press in the earpiece firmly. It will make all the difference in the world. Reduce the volume, increase the bass and enjoy. Some people do not like the earpiece to be air tight, which IMO reduces the bass capabilities significantly. Be sure to reduce the VOLUME...! :)

I bought these headphones to replace a pair of Denon IEMs that had, unfortunately, managed to get its cord cut. These are a worthy replacement for the Denons, and even rank up there with the pair of VModa Vibes I used to have (also suffered cord failure). When I first tried on these phones, I was disappointed with how little bass there seemed to be; however, simply reseating the tips in my ears fixed that problem. To all of you who rated these phones poorly because of lack of bass, you should have been a little more patient. In-Ear Monitors (IEMs) rarely work perfectly right out of the box - the phones need a little time to "get used to you", so to speak. It takes a little time and patience to find that "sweet spot" where ear placement is concerned - remember, without a proper seal, you cannot hope to get good bass - or anything else - from a pair of IEMs. Once I found my "sweet spot" - and added a touch of moisture to the tips - these phones delivered bass to spare! I bought these headphones already aware of the cord noise the cloth-covered cords produce. However, as indicated by the nature of the demise of my previous sets of headphones, cord durability is a priority. I am willing to deal with some cord noise as long as the cord can last for more than a year or two.

Awesome Solid Sound! Unlike the other reviews!

I have the Altec computer speakers and Plantronics owns Altec who makes the headsets in commercial airliners and the sound for the price is always Amazing. But I was surprised at some of the bad reviews so I decided to still buy them but not destroy the packaging. ( I was expecting to return them from the reviews) When I plugged them in I already knew they were well worth it! (esp. for $50, $20 more than my budget) The sound doesnt lose fidelity when you turn it up! and you can't even hear anything going on when you put them on! And I running with them is great...the lace cords is a touch of class. To those other reviewers, I think you guys gotta get a new MP3 player cuz it is probably broken. Other note: Best buy should let you test headphones out that are in-ear...Just reading specs and reviews is more difficult than it needs to be.

I bought them today hoping for good sound quality and a sturdy cord, due to my last headphones caught a corner and snapped the cord. I really like the strong cord but its really noisy when it rubs anything, it has good sound quality and sound isolation but doesn't produce the base as I had hoped for.

Great headphones, much better than i expected!

i bought these headphones with pretty low expectations, i expected your typical skull candy style ear buds that frequently fall out and break after about 6 months and man was i off. I've used headphones that were four and five hundred dollars (shure and bose) and these sounded good compared to those, for only fifty bucks your getting a great deal. These have crystal clear sound, the never fall out, block sound even on low volumes and are smooth and comfortable within your ears. my main problem with in ear buds is that the tear up the inside of my ears (usually my ears get raw and red, then they hurt for at least the rest of the day) but not with these.if your even considering these headphones order them now, i promise you will not be dissapionted!

Not so great for physical activity

If your going to use these to lounge around with than these are for you. The sound quality is pretty good, they are fairly comfortable and the cord length is good. Now if you are thinking about using these during physical activity than look for another set. You can hear the cord rub up against your shirt and everything else no matter how loud you have the music, it is the most annoying thing EVER. I went to the driving range and it was borderline unbearable. I cant imagine running with these. I bought the set today and will return it tomorrow.

Just got these headphones today. have had them in my ears for about 3 hours now. sound quality is great! These are a replacement for my apple headphones that came with my phone. those were good, but no candle to these bad boys. of course ive only had these for a couple of hours i can already tell that they were a good investment. was contemplating buying the bose headphones, but couldnt stomach the price. Im glad i didnt break down cause i cant imagine them having been twice as good of these (bose are $100 these are $50).

I have had a few different ear buds, JVC, Skullcandy and V-Moda high end.. V-Moda was by far the best of these the 3 but they didn't last very long with little usage, so I tried these because of reviews and name. Wasn't dissapointed at all. Clean sound with plenty of bass not to metion 30.00 cheaper than the V-Moda, now if they'll last longer that will top it off.

    Worth the Extra Money

I researched for a while on noise canceling and isolation headphones and knew that I didnt want to spend the crazy amount on the shure or bose sets. I had originally planned on getting the the $30 version, but figured there must be a reason why one was more expensive. I opted for these and I'm very glad i did. The sound is awesome for headphones and the noise isolation is great. I tried them out at my office with someone running a vacuum next to me and I could barley hear it! I would highly recommend these to anyone who is looking for a way to drone out noise. Since it droned out the vacuum, I can only assume that it will do a great job at droning out engine noise on the plane. I'll be trying that in a couple days. Overall first impression were phenomenal.

I was initially disappointed with these but I decided to try the other ear tips just for fun. What a surpise! I found some of the missing bass with the largest set of ear tips. Can't explain it but now these sound just about right.

    altec lansing earbuds

Right so this earbud, i thought it would become my dream set of earbuds. Decent price, good ratings, looks fine. But after buying them and trying them out i realized they have the most annoying flaw in the world. Sure sound is clear and loud, it fits in your ear perfectly with their different sizes but still the annoying flaw. Now i know a lot of earbuds are going for the cotton-ish chords but once the buds are in your ear if the chords rub against the slightest surface (for example your clothes or your face) u can hear a rumble like none other. I had my ipod at full blast but the rumble scratching sound from the chords still blocked out some of the music. Obviously this can be considered a pet peeve or what not and if you're ok with a loud scratching sound in the background of ur music then these buds are for you but after i tried these buds i realized there was no way i could listen to music in a pure form.

    Adequate for the price

When I am exercising or listening at home I normally use my Technics full-surround headphones. I bought these to use when traveling, especially flying. The sound is decent for the price. The bass is adequate, although the overall sound is a little "bright". That's better than muddy, though. The cloth-covered cord is a mixed blessing. While it is sturdier than the thin, plastic-covered cords, any rubbing on clothing from the yoke to the earpieces is very noticeable, especially during quiet passages. A smooth cord would reduce this considerably. Overall, a good value for the price.

I bought these earbuds about 8 months ago to replace the ones that came with my iPod. I was hesitant to spend $50 on a set of earbuds, but afterwards I was so glad I did. These earbuds sound amazing! From the crisp highs to the thumping bass, they stood up to anything I could throw at them. I used them at the gym and one of the speakers finally shorted out. The cord is not really "gym friendly" and they seem to be made more for non-active use. With the punishment I put them through, they stood up very well. I'd have to say the one drawback is the cord. It is very non-tangle when compared to the standard rubber ones you normally see, but the sound resonates to the speakers when the cord rubs clothing etc. When faced with replacing them, I actually just bought a cheap pair to work out at the gym with, and will use these at work where the shorted speaker cord can be bent into place so that both speakers work. If you want great sound with bass you can feel, these are a great buy! It's a lot of money for earbuds, but again, these have all-day comfort and sound fantastic!

I bought these from Best Buy in August '09 to replaced the earbuds that came with the iPod Touch (8GB). After it has been "broken-in" the sounds are well balanced. The highs, mids and the lows all complement each other. Speaking of lows, for an in-ear phones I was astonished. It's not muddied/boomy. These headphones are not noise-isolating. However, they do block a majority of the sounds when you're listening to music. Altec Lansing did include extra earbuds for different size ears. The pre-installed earbuds fit my ears perfectly. They are very comfortable to wear for hours. My only complaint is the cord. It's made out of cloth for durability. But it makes too much noise when it rubs against your clothes. Which can be annoying at times.
