Good to use to ask simple questions. Just not complex stuff though. Good to use with fire stick and prime.

This is the least expensive way to find out if “Alexa” can work for you. Love to ask for weather or time, to use as an alarm, to ask trivia questions, to play songs, etc. The only thing I don’t like is using it as a timer as I haven’t been able to figure out a way to discover how much time is left on the timer.

I love this echo dot. Guys at best buy helped me get this delivered at my home, I came on time and I am happy with it.

This is the 3rd one I have purchased. They all work grreat, especially if you bluetooth link them to a better speaker.

Echo dots are quite useful for quick handsfree information like weather and finding out about famous people, places, meanings of words, etc. Plus, if you add portable battery charger like the one from Wasserstein, also available from Bestbuy, makes the Dot easy to move around the house for few hours.

The DOT is an amazing product that offers the best voice recognition I have ever used. Unfortunately, it did not work for my application. I bought the Amazon Dot to work with an old Sony Network Speaker that is no longer supported. It seemed the perfect marriage. The Sony speaker did not support Bluetooth and had to be connected via the AUX cable. Sadly the speaker would not wake up without being physically turned on. That basically defeated the purpose of the dot.

Great addition to all my other echo devices. Inexpensive. I am elderly and Handicapped. I use it to turn on and off lights. I also can easily call family members if I should fall as well as 911. With the drop in app my daughter can monitor me in my own home.

Saw it at a bargain price at BB do I bought three gave awY two. Love mine. So much fun. Great product. Easy to set up.

I bought this for my dad for Christmas since he's always talking/asking questions on his phone. The initial set-up was somewhat simple, even for a non tech-savvy person, however, streaming the app to the actual device took some time. Don't know if it was because were not the most technological people or if its that difficult. After some time, we finally got it "connected." Long story short, my old man loves the echo. He uses for simplistic stuff (news, weather, etc.).

This is a nice thing to have handy. Need an answer to a question just ask Alexa. You can set alarms, reminders, etc. Sometimes I have to yell for it to hear me but other than that I love it.

Amazon Echo Dot does what you buy it for ... and not much more. It has an output jack for an external speaker which is nice, and more microphones than the Home Mini to pick up your commands.

I love my Echo, but thought it would have to be returned since I could not set it up on my HP Windows 10 laptop. What I found was because it was purchased through Best Buy and NOT Amazon, I could not install the APP. I had to contact Amazon who registered it for me via phone and then the App would load. (I do not have an IPhone)

I bought this primarily to connect to a WeMo light switch so that I could easily control the lighting in my living room. It works great! I have an Echo Alexa in another room that I use for music, but this would work for that, too. It's also nice to have a quick answer to my questions such as, "How's the weather?" It's a great device!

This item has been fun for the family. It would be helpful to have a little more information on what the item can do.

The Amazon Echo is easy to set up and fun to use. I thought the speaker would be inadequate, but for the bedroom ,bathroom, or kitchen, it works just fine. if you want louder better sound, you can always sync it with another speaker. It will play virtually play any song or kind of music you ask Alexa you want to listen to.Ask her a question, she usually has an answer.I am still learning the many different ways to use this state of the art device.

They work as advertised, however the built-in speaker is pretty bad. I purchased these as additional units to connect to external sound sources. One is hard-wired to my main AVR and the other is connected via Bluetooth to a sound bar in another room. They do the trick and I wouldn't waste the money on more expensive versions if hooking up to another sound source. If wanting to use an Echo stand alone, I would definitely recommend the regular Echo.

Have not tried the dot as it was a gift for someone else. But if it is as good as the echo I’m sure it will be great.

I bought the 2nd generation. Amazon dot for my niece as a birthday gift. I have enjoyed mine all year. She loves music.

The Echo Dot is a cool gadget to have in any place around the house. I have connected my Dot to my Philips Hue lighting system, so I can have Alexa turn on and off my lights. I can ask Alexa to play music and tell me the news and weather. It is a convenient way to get information and access your home automation. I have to admit though that after a while of using it, I've been using it less and less. I like that it's there, but after a while you may forget about it.
