**Title:** "Echo Pop: A Teal Marvel of Modern Convenience" **Review:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I recently purchased the Amazon Echo Pop (1st Generation) in the stunning Midnight Teal color from Best Buy, and I must say, it's been an absolute game-changer for my home setup. Here's why it deserves every bit of its five-star rating: **Design and Aesthetics:** The Midnight Teal finish is not just a color; it's a statement. It blends seamlessly with my modern decor, adding a touch of elegance that you wouldn't expect from a smart speaker. The design is sleek, compact, and unobtrusive, making it perfect for any room without dominating the space. **Sound Quality:** For its size, the Echo Pop delivers surprisingly robust sound. The bass is deep enough for music, and the clarity during calls or podcasts is impressive. It's not just about volume; it's about the quality of sound that fills the room evenly, making every listening experience enjoyable. **Alexa's Capabilities:** Alexa has never been more responsive. With the Echo Pop, voice commands are recognized with high accuracy, even from across the room. The integration with other smart home devices is flawless. I've linked it with my lights, thermostat, and even my coffee machine, creating a morning routine that feels like magic. **Customization and Features:** The ability to customize Alexa's wake word, set up routines, and even change the color of the light ring adds a personal touch. The built-in Zigbee hub is a hidden gem, simplifying the setup of smart home devices without needing additional hubs. This feature alone saves space and reduces clutter. **Value for Money:** Priced competitively, especially with Best Buy's deals, the Echo Pop offers incredible value. It's not just a speaker; it's a hub for entertainment, information, and home automation. The cost-effectiveness, combined with its performance, makes it a must-have for anyone looking to dip their toes into smart home technology or expand their existing setup. **Customer Service and Warranty:** Best Buy's service was top-notch, with quick delivery and easy setup assistance over the phone. Knowing Amazon's reputation for customer support, any potential issues would be handled swiftly, adding peace of mind to my purchase. In conclusion, the Amazon Echo Pop in Midnight Teal is not just a smart speaker; it's a stylish, efficient, and delightful addition to any home. It seamlessly integrates into your life, making everyday tasks simpler and more enjoyable. If you're on the fence about smart home devices, this Echo Pop will not only push you over but make you wonder how you managed without it. Highly recommended!

The trouble with Echos is that that they keep multiplying like Tribbles. Plug one in the garage and you have music to work by. Or even outside for music on the deck or while doing yardwork. The design of the Pop is much better than the hockey puck-like Dot. It is slightly bigger. The front looks like a round screen and it angles to the back so the controls are hidden. To use the volume or mute buttons it is easiest to turn it around or pick it up. Why just a white cord for every color? It would be nice to have the cord match the device color. Sound quality is good. I wish the volume could be higher on these devices. This isn’t stereo quality sound with a deep, rich bass. The Pop is fine for playing music around the house while you are doing something else. The Dot has better sound quality for just listening to music. Dual-band Wi-Fi supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 and 5 GHz) networks. Eero is built in. This is a great entry level Echo and is the least expensive of the product line. It comes in handy as an alarm or to play daily Jeopardy. Plus, it will answer most of your questions. I still occasionally stump Alexa.

    This Pop replaced my Dot

This is the 1st Generation of the Amazon Echo Pop which is a new low-cost smart home speaker that Amazon has produced. This speaker to me is shaped like an Orange cut in half and it measures in at less than 4” all around. The front facing flat area houses the 1.95” speaker that delivers directional sound mainly the direction is it pointing. The sound is good, but no where near-earth shattering, but it is an improvement over my 2nd Generation Echo Dot. It was able to connect to my Wi-Fi 5GHz network as well as my 2.4GHz and includes Bluetooth 5.0+, supports Matter over Wi-Fi and can function as an Eero access point, although at very slow speeds (I did not test this). There are only three buttons on the device now, Volume up, Volume down, Mic Mute and gone is the physical assistant activation button, but you can use the Vol up and down buttons together to activate it. I found that to be difficult to do since the buttons on my Charcoal color is so dark that I can’t see them unless it’s a well-lit area. There are also three visible microphone holes on top and I found them to work well even in a room with a lot of background noise such as my portable A/C blowing at full speed a few feet away from the Echo Pop. I found that this Pop will do all of the voice commands that my Dot would do and then some. Gone is the micro-USB power connection and it is replaced with a 3.5mm like power adapter that is White, and I wished it would have had a matching power cord. Also gone is the 3.5mm audio jack that my Dot had, but this is not something I used, but you want to be aware of that. Over-all this is a simple and inexpensive Alexa device if you are looking to venture into the realm of home automation or voice assistant devices. Set up is very simple in the Alexa app and you can customize a lot of things about this device.

Amazon Echo Pop 2023 Gen 1: A Surprisingly Good En

Hey everyone, I recently got my hands on the Amazon Echo Pop 2023 Gen 1, and I’ve been putting it through its paces over the past few weeks. Given its position as a budget-friendly entry in the Echo lineup, I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by what this little device can do. Here’s my take on it, breaking down the pros and cons for anyone considering adding it to their smart home setup. The Good Stuff • Price Point: First off, the affordability of the Echo Pop is a huge plus. It’s great to see Amazon offering an option that makes smart home tech more accessible to everyone. • Design: It’s small and unobtrusive, fitting perfectly on my nightstand and kitchen counter. Plus, the eco-friendly approach to materials is a nice touch. • Sound Quality: Considering its size, the sound is pretty good! It’s been my go-to for background music and daily news briefings. • Alexa at Your Service: The seamless integration with Alexa means I can manage my smart home, get updates, and do a lot more, all hands-free. • Eco-friendly: The use of recycled materials in its design is something I really appreciate, aligning with my efforts to make more sustainable choices. Not So Great • Sound Limitations: While it’s decent for casual listening, the sound quality doesn’t blow me away. It lacks the depth you’d get from a higher-end speaker. • Features: Understandably, to keep the cost down, it misses out on some of the fancier features of its pricier siblings. • Connectivity Issues: I’ve had a few hiccups getting it to stay connected to my Wi-Fi, which can be a bit frustrating. • Voice Recognition: It doesn’t always catch what I say on the first try, especially if I’m not right next to it or if there’s background noise. Final Thoughts The Amazon Echo Pop 2023 Gen 1 is a solid choice for anyone looking to dip their toes into the smart home world without spending a lot of money. It’s a competent device that covers the basics well, offering a lot of value for its price. While it won’t satisfy audiophiles or those looking for high-end features, it’s a fantastic option for everyday use. I’m really enjoying having it as part of my home, and I think it’s a great way for anyone to get started with smart speakers. Just keep in mind its limitations, and you won’t be disappointed. Would I recommend it? Absolutely, especially if you’re new to smart speakers or if you’re looking for an affordable way to expand your existing setup.

ANOTHER VARIATION ON THE ECHO SPEAKER THEME

The new Amazon Echo Pop is another variation on the Amazon Echo Smart Speaker theme. The shape has changed, and a couple of minor details have changed, but overall, this is another Echo speaker which performs very much like all of the other Echo speaker devices. Although I started out with just a couple of Echo Dots several years ago, somehow Echo’s just keep multiplying, and they are now everywhere in our home. The proliferation of Alexa enabled smart devices has even further entrenched us in the Amazon Alexa ecosystem, now that we have several smart TVs and soundbars which are always waiting to spring into action when her wake-word name is mentioned (even when spoken by a character on a TV show). The new Echo Pop has a slightly larger speaker than her brethren. At 1.95” diameter, this speaker is larger than the 1.6” speakers in my flock of Echo Dot 3rd Generation and 4th Generation units. The orientation of the speaker has also changed for the Echo Pop. This unit has a front firing speaker which projects sound more directionally than the other Echo speakers. Like the others, the Echo Pop has dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 and 5 GHz) network support. Like some of the other recent models, the Echo Pop has eero mesh network technology. If you happen to use an eero network, the Echo Pop will serve as a Wi-Fi extender in the network adding up to 1000 ft2 of coverage at up to 100 Mbps. I do not use eero mesh, so I cannot evaluate or validate those claims. The Echo Pop measures 3.6” tall x 3.9” wide x 3.3” deep. Above the cloth covered speaker grill is the LED display for the various system notifications. The top of the plastic housing has a Volume Up button, Volume Down button and Microphone Mute button. The fourth button, which Amazon called the “Action” button has been eliminated from the Echo Pop. There is no output jack for external speakers on this model. The Echo Pop is offered in four colors including Lavender, Charcoal, White and Teal. As usual, the power supply and cord are just white. Something new and different for the Echo Pop is the availability of new accessories. There is a wall mountable, bracket style Shelf for the Echo Pop. Additionally, there are silicone rubber Sleeves (slip-on) offered in seven colors including, Red, Blue, Purple, Lilac, Grey, Orange, and Glow-in-the-dark. Also available is a desktop Stand for the Echo Pop which provides USB-C and USB-A charging ports. The new Echo Pop works great and sounds good, just like the other Amazon Echo smart speaker devices. The larger, directionally oriented speaker has a slightly different sound profile than the other Echo speakers that I have, but in truth, they all sound good. In fact, the large sound produced by the small speakers and enclosures of Echo speakers has always been a pleasant surprise. The only “problem” with Echo smart speakers is that they just seem to keep multiplying and popping up all over the house!

I bought the Echo Pop (1st Gen) in Charcoal and it’s been a great addition to my home. The sound quality is surprisingly good for its size, and Alexa responds quickly to voice commands. I use it daily for music, weather updates, and controlling smart devices. It’s compact, looks sleek, and fits perfectly on a shelf or desk. Great value for the price. definitely recommend!

I like having smart devices it is a major convenience and helps me out immensely around my home. My echo show had broken so it was time for a replacement. I was not going to spend a whole lot to replace the show so I ended up checking out the ECHO POP. :::General Impressions & Thoughts::: I am no stranger to amazon’s ecosystem I have owned and still own numerous echo dots, and have gifted them as well. I want to make it clear that I like Amazon’s smart devices and as a result I am a little biased towards them in comparison to competing devices. Upon opening the box, you get your echo device a power cord and instruction manual. No frills super simple packaging for a simple device. Straight to the point and I appreciate that. Setup is a breeze if you already have your account setup and in place. It took me roughly a minute to setup that’s my fastest time ever. This device is small much like the first- and second-generation echo dots. One distinguishing feature is that it sits up at a slant and the speaker is forward facing so audio is projected at you. In comparison to the other line of echo devices that lay flat. Audio quality is rich for a device with one speaker. You pretty much know what you are getting if you’ve owned other devices. Voice detection is still lacking for me due to the fact that by nature I am very soft spoken. Granted I do not have to yell like before with my previous devices it is still a little annoying that I have to raise my voice despite the device sitting on my nightstand right next to my bed. :::Pro’s & Con’s::: Pros: - Small footprint - Rich audio - Sleek & stylish design - Simple to use & integrate with your smart devices Cons: - My first complaint is that the power cord is not USB C. - I also wish that voice detection can become better for soft spoken individuals like myself :::Closing thoughts::: I like that Amazon offers a variety of smart devices that offer convenience for those who have a smart home set up. I use my cameras & cleaning robots to make home automation a breeze along with lighting. The line of ECHO devices can pretty much integrate with almost anything nowadays from your car, to your lights, refrigerator and so much more. Those are just some examples but overall having an echo is just awesome there is something for everyone. :::TL;DR::: If you are searching for a small and inexpensive smart speaker/assistant then look no further because this can do everything but make you a sandwich but it certainly can order one for you.

It's a good sounding little speaker. It was reasonably priced through a special deal. This was my second echo pop. I bought it especially for upcoming surgery while my son is helping me out. One is going in my bedroom and one in his bedroom. If I need help getting up or need something else I can drop in on the other speaker in his room and tell him that I need his help through the echo pop speaker. Presently I enjoy listening to Amazon music on it while cleaning house. It saves wear and tear on my TV which I sometimes use for Pandora music. Alexa can tell me jokes, the weather, whatever else I want to know. It tells me good morning and good night. Lol!
