I use the Fire Stick in my basement home theater. It’s two floors from my router and one floor from my Euro 6 WiFi extender. When I turn on the Fire Stick it boots up immediately and streams content without any rebooting. My older Fire Stick was much slower and often rebooted during streaming

The Fire TV Stick is one of the few streaming devices that has the ability to down-convert newer surround sound formats into Dolby Digital that your older receiver can use. Only negative so far for the Fire TV Stick, is the DirecTV Stream app isn't as good as the app for Roku.
