Sadly, not true. I thought maybe I had not installed it correctly. It seemed too easy. But it wasn't me. The Firestick had lots of free channels with old content, but not to the network news programs/shows I wanted. (There were some news programs, but none with anchors I recognized.) You have the option to stream Amazon, Peacock, Netflix and more for a monthly fee , (good), but I couldn't find anything I wanted on live network TV, which was why I bought it. I kept the product but don't use it as often as I thought I would.

Posted .Hi DonnaR, thank you for your feedback about the Fire TV Stick 4K. In order to stream local channels, you will need to download a live TV app. Some of the most popular apps include, but are not limited to, YouTube TV, Hulu Live, and Fubo. A good solution for the price in a child or guest room, but I greatly prefer my Apple TV or the embedded solution in my Samsung smart TV.
